Tiny amounts in the areas near Toulouse where loads of British and Germans live, they've pushed up the house prices and rents because they have relocation allowances. I think there is a bit of resentment which you can understand because if you don't work in the air industry wages here aren't that high. Just stuff like people in shops being rude when they're massively polite to everybody else though, nothing serious. I did get overcharged for a sausage at the football but my French was shite when I arrived so he probably thought he was ripping off a tourist.

Having said that you'd never get a job in competition with a French person and the police are very aggressive with anybody who isn't white.

I always thought an expat was someone who was temporarily working/living overseas and fully intended to return to place of origin, whereas a migrant has a specific intention to leave his country of origin and settle somewhere else.
