I can't imagine The Studio is big enough for them to be honest. Must be a warm up show for the Etihad or something?

I'm going for 'Crumbling Flaky Wall Around My Heart' from the 'Adverse Camber' album, there's a brilliant version of it by The Priority Seats which I don't think has been released, only ever seen live versions of it on Youtube.

The Priority Seats effort was good, but anyone even attempting a cover of any FD's songs are quite frankly insane (in the brain), which ironically is another song that would sound amazing if covered by FD's

Can’t believe no-one has mention Big Bob D. I’ve always liked him, but most of the covers of his songs are an improvement on the original.

Richie Havens, Just Like a Woman. Exquisite.
In fact I could probably name 10 RH covers of different artists that outclass the original, and the original is already immense.

Better than Rolf but not as good as a later version I heard somewhere. Can't remember the name of the band though.

Cowboy Junkies were also awesome covers specialists - can listen to their version of Sweet Jane all night long - but you still have to wash your mouth out with soap and water for what you said about The Wedding Present's really, really dull cover of She's My Best Friend.

I've just spat out the last few suds and I stand by what I said. Maybe because I heard the Wedding Present version first. I love the Velvet Underground, but their version is just a bit too off key for my liking.

The Revolting Cocks' destruction of Do Ya Think I'm Sexy is a superbly sinister improvement on Rod Stewart's effort. Adding the lyrics, "I'm sorry baby but I'm out of KY jelly" gives it an extra edge.

Richard Thompson's take on Oops I Did It Again gives the song a gravitas that Britney's version lacks - but he couldn't carry off the red catsuit.

Cowboy Junkies version of Powderfinger gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, I love Neil Young's original but the Junkies version is hauntingly beautiful. Don't know whether it was ever committed to vinyl but Robert Plant's version of Mirror In The Bathroom knocked spots off The Beat when I heard it live.

Van Der Graaf Generator's cover of George Martin's "Theme One", the Radio 1 theme tune.
I think it was a deliberate piss-take when their label insisted on a single.
As close to conventional as they ever got but still absolutely bonkers.

I only know this song by the very fine version by Chicken Shack, and vaguely remember Rod Stewart's version. I will have to check out Etta James' original, and the aforementioned BH & JB.

That would be Chicken Shack fronted by Christine Perfect who became Christine McVie who was in the fake Fleetwood Mac.
Yes, nice version.
As for Rod Stewart, he never did a cover he didn't murder IMHO.

I take it you have the same opinion as me, that when people speak of Fleetwood Mac there are two completely different entities using the same name.
