Meanwhile our local press try to kill the story... Really Liam? You should be doing better than this. In the first place no one said it had been served, just issued. Secondly rather than dig deeper you try to rubbish the story. Very disappointing but this sort of Lord Haw Haw behaviour is exactly the reason why Coxberg got away with so much for so long.

Goebbels first move was to control the 'media' of the day, then you control the message.

Don't know why he bothered to confuse things. My understanding is that once it is issued, which he clearly knows about given the second half of the tweet, it is always served and you have to go to the hearing even if you've paid by then. Must be because other creditors can jump in. Which is what i'd be doing now if i was a business owed money by Pools.

Just to clear up the process.

Pre-step: Usually a demand for payment or a Stat demand is made.

Step 1: Issuing a winding up petition (note for the issue of a winding up petition, the Petitioner must believe the company is insolvency and unable to pay its debts - a winding up petition is different to say issuing a normal court claim, where the Company owes money. It is a class remedy not debt collection. A winding up petition is basically stating they believe the Company is insolvent and unable to pay it's debts - that's a requirement.)

Step 2: The winding up petition is issued upon the Company's registered office by a process server. The winding up petition has to be either handed to an authorised person or deposited (aka posted) if no authorised persons are available. Once served, the Company can apply to the courts and make an application to restrain advertisement.

Step 3: The Petitioner must wait a minimum of 7 days before advertising and advertise a minimum of 7 days before the hearing.

Step 4: The Petitioner files a Certificate of Compliance to confirm the Insolvency Rules have been complied with.

Step 5: Court hearing - the options available to the Judge are to either adjourn, dismiss the petition, dismiss the petition with costs, allow a supporting creditor to take carriage of the petition and be subsistuted as the Petitioner (aka if Pools laundrette is still owed money and HMRC have been paid, Pools laundrette could feasibly should they desire take carriage, lets hope we've paid our other bills eh?) or the final option is to wind the Company up.

Step 6: If a winding up order has been made the Company is liquidated, Official Receiver gets involved etc etc. If adjourned or substituted, there will be another hearing. If dismissed, there will be no more hearings unless another petition is issued. It appears we're now on our fourth.

Here you go Liam. A shame you demeaned yourself by trying to turn it into a non denial denial. (See Ben Bradlee for original)

Issued means that its been submitted to the High Court by the plaintiff (HMRC), its been through the system and has been issued for a hearing to wind up the company. Served means that a copy has been legally handed over to the company. Usually by a Bailiff.

Sorry for a side note but I feel (And i'm not suggested Liam is to blame) the division between fans has been caused by journalists to some extent by accusing other fans who have done fact checking of being scare mongering and stirring. This is where the initial rift began - the press and Coxall said don't trust the detectives, some fans vilified those detectives (like Mr. I) , the detectives mocked those who doubted them when proven to be true and eventually a divide occurred.

I can’t understand why so called local journalists are more interested in the team sheet than the balance sheet.

I hope when we rise again, these are the last ones to be invited to the 1st game

I got told on good authority Pam and Sammy Lee have parted company on bad terms and that Liam is the new lapdog at Duxbury Towers. The statement the other day released by the club that wasn't even in basic English definitely suggest Sammy is no longer involved.
Either way this kid isn't a journalist, otherwise he would have been asking the club what their relationship is with Full 90 Sports Management and whether this Watson is involved in criminal activity as has been alleged twice publicly this week.

I'm surprised the clubs bank haven't foreclosed on them! Would have thought they'd be owed a few quid.
And the bank manager will not have had his head in the sand for the last few weeks / months.

I would have thought a real journalist would be looking at the reasons for the winding up order, rather than splitting hairs about it being issued or served.

You would also expect them to write things they've found out for themselves rather than being told to write.

I understand that HMRC are fairly hot on football clubs these days but I’d think this is a relatively old debt. Even if it is December’s PAYE bill which would have been due 19th Jan (and I think that’s very unlikely to have got to the stage of a winding up order given that is would be just two weeks late), January’s PAYE bill will be due 19th Feb, presumably for a similar amount. But this could be say November’s or even earlier meaning even when this is amount is paid, they could still owe twice this amount. Or more. Normal businesses usually get LOTS of warnings to pay for a few months before it gets anywhere near issuing a winding up order.
If it is PAYE and not VAT, you have until 7th of the month to pay that so depending on how the vat periods fall, that could be payable too on 7th Feb. If not Feb, there will be one due either 7th March or 7th April.
I work in an accountants so just thought I’d share my experiences of HMRC. I obviously don’t know for sure but I think this £48000 will be a relatively old debt and the amount actually owed to them will be a lot higher, certainly more than what will be left in the Just Giving fund once this has been paid.
I hope there is something in Mr I’s chink of light because this really does look like the beginning of the end to me.

Before this gets cut and pasted anywhere, this is all just my personal opinion. I don’t claim to know it all, just my take from my dealings with HMRC in my job.
