The tactics are just baffling, bring on Connor Simpson and play everything through the middle and have Rodney and Oates as our widest players. We desperately needed width and quality balls into the box with Simpson on the pitch.

How Rodney get paid money to play football is beyond me, when he made a run and just stopped when played in was just atrocious.

Bit harsh I think - he at least tried to be positive on the ball. I think the one you mean is where he made the run about ten seconds earlier but Franks(?) only saw it when he was running back onside

No on the one I am talking about he started to make a run, the ball was played and he had stopped the run. He wasn’t offside, I was about 3 yards away from where he made the run. I don’t think Franks played the ball but I’m not certain. He may try to be positive on the ball, but he fails almost every time for me. Doesn’t seem to have a football brain, doesn’t make the intelligent run and rarely makes the right decision in terms of distribution.

I am saying this as a fan and not a trust member.

Craig Harrison is out of his depth and either taking advice from coaches who don`t know whatthey are doing or he is just ignoring advice and doing what he thinks is right.

The fact he named a goalkeeper on the bench when he has out field players on loan who are playing really well and I bet my bank account he hasn`t watched them once, Blackford was superb on Wednesday at North Shields taking on players and scoring and he brings on Rodney who has the footballing brain equivalent of sheep!, Hawkes scoring a worldy for Dunston and yes it is Northern League but we are the same standard, Maidenhead were woeful and beat us, they bring on an attacker for the no3 and score and then bring on a defender for an attacker, TACTICS!!!

Does anybody watch them train?, do they practice shooting? set pieces?

How do we go to a home game expecting to lose sctatchinghead

If Harrison has any self respect he will resign, it doesn`t matter if we don`t have anybody else,it won`t make a difference, the bloody players could come up with better than he is serving, if this was a food establishment the eho would have shut us down, I am sick of being in a shit mood for 2 days after watching that banghead

Interesting last few comments on the game. Being home for Christmas was first live game in flesh I’ve seen this season so went in with no real preconceived ideas or mantras about individual players or the management (just seen TV games and highlights so far).

For me, after that showing I’m not sure it would matter if the cloned Hybrid of Clough/Ferguson/Shankly was in charge right now. I’m sure plenty will reply and pick apart some supposed tactics today but basically the startin 11 and bench is not really good enough either in basic talent or desire, or strength or reading the game (or a mixture of all. In the starting 11 I would put 5 of the player in that category that became 6 when Harrison came on.

We can bump gums about Harrison all day long but there is no quick fix with this squad of players and background circumstances. Obviously we can say that he signed the players (allegedly) and he may not be picking others but it is a really poor squad. Essentially r Got down the middle of the park sadly.

Unless some of the quality players come back quickly (Featherstone-yes him!!!, Watson etc the league table will start to look as ugly as our accounts allegedly do.

I am very surprised to only really see one player singled out for criticism after that on here and it being Rodney. For me he positively impacted the game and did ok, yet the couple of things that went wrong for him were more vociferously pilloried than the rest of the shit all game some of the others served up

Ultimately that was a soul destroying experience today

The fact Rodney makes the bench is startling, he isn`t a winger, when he gets it and plays it to a man he just stays out on the wing when a run into the box is the obvious move, he can`t tackle and quite frankly makes Sydney Schmeltz look a world beater.
I know I bang on about Blackford but it is criminal he gets his place ahead of him, he wants to play for his home town club and is cast aside for that, pop along to a Shildon match before xmas before deriding my remarks.

Ultimately that was a soul destroying experience today

The most telling thing for me was no the play, not the crowd or the manager.

No, when the board went up for five more minutes at 2-1 down was there a roar from the crowd and a mass shout of up and at 'em, over the top lads? No instead the crowd booed the fact that we had to watch five more minutes of this shite.

Monkeybutt if you read my post again you will see I didn’t deride your remarks directly in any way. I just remarked that I was surprised based on what I saw why Rodney has been singled out today when he did better than most of the players who had been on the rest of the match.

I didn’t and can’t comment on Blackford as I’ve never seen him play. Emotions are running high I get that

I didn`t quote that very well and wasn`t having a go at you Dalton, the derision remarks were to a previous thread about quality of Northern league and not something you had written, my bad!

Pretty low for both I'd guess.

That and a crowd of 2,700 being so quiet that for most of the match all you could hear was 40 Maidenhead fans singing.

"Two-one to the part-timers" was pretty good though - shame we didn't all join in to let Harrison, the coaches and players know how much we appreciate their efforts.

I reckon you’d be better off concentrating on your own problems to be honest I don’t know where Darlo are in the League but it must be near the bottom as every time I see a result you’ve lost.

They're sitting pretty in 19th of 22 teams but the bottom one is North Ferriby who've won once all season! I'd take a guess that Darlo's odds for relegation aren't 6/1.

The complete absence of any form of protest at the final whistle was indeed telling. All I heard was a collective sigh of relief........'thank eff it's over', 'least we won't have to waste our time here again'.......

The last breaths are being sucked out of our once proud club - well, it might not have had cause to be proud, but it was ours.............

Eighteen hundred in Gateshead on Boxing Day - another damp squib of a performance - and then what? One final bout of bad behaviour to embarrass the club's legacy and tarnish some happy memories? I can't recall ever not looking forward to a Boxing Day game, but today I am fearing for the worst on Monday - on so many levels.

From the Club's 'for sale' notice:

"The Club is excited and looking forward to the games over the festive period and recognise the fans have a massive part to play in helping us move up the table."

Pity the players didn't recognise that they have a massive part to play in helping us move up the table!

The players are generally poor, but I still think they are underperforming and good manager could get another 50% out of them.

Harrison is solely to blame, architect of his own downfall, had the money, licence to bring in players, yet has completely mucked the job up.

Yeah he won loads with New Saints, but that league is the quality of top 6 in Northern League, and New Saints are like the Man United of it, plenty of money to spend, FFS! even one of worst players in our history Ryan Brobbel was a regular for them. They're still top now even without Harrison, its like Celtic in Scotland, a monkey could be in charge and they would still succeed.

This job was a step up too far for Harrison.
