A disappointing reality check for Harrison's side, a poor Morecambe outfit exposing them for what they are, a mid-table Bananarama League at best. Light years away from a return to the EFL I'm afraid

A mild disappointment, but not the priority the league is. Can someone however sort out the teams 'talent' for playing a piss poor first half, then reappearing as a different team in the second half. A full 90 minutes please, not the Jeckyll and Hyde stuff we're getting.

Typical blinkered reactions from the red spex brigade conveniently ignoring poor performances/results cos they don't fit with their overblown perception of Harrison and his overrated, overhyped squad. Living in a bubble.

At least he's an obvious t roll, what are 'red spex' by the way are they more or less optimistic than rose tinted ones? We need answers?? Some of the over top reactors though are being serious/seem delighted at the 3-0 as they can vent the negative garbage they clearly enjoy.

I've not seen anyone say we are a great side or will win the League or anything of the sort. I have seen loads of the same people who have went to Town on this result bleating like a cracked record about so called negative tactics. I think it's them who are a bit blinkered. Three of our first choice back four are missing and our centre forward is missing. We aren't great but neither is this League, we are capable of finishing in the top seven of it which would at least give us a chance in the play off lottery. This constant bleating isn't helping anyone, we got relegated in May we need to accept it and get on with it. Yes Saturday was dissapointing as the tie looked very winnable and we didn't turn up, but it's football it happened it's only the second game we've lost since the early weeks of the season win next week and all is forgotten and we'll possibly be sitting in or very close to a play of position. Tediously banging your gums because we aren't playing like Real Madrid isn't going to help. More of that when Gary Coxall was systematically tearing apart our squad so he could pay the bills might have been better to be honest. It's. long season, we will have more disappointments on the way I'm sure but we have an honest bunch of players who might not be the most talented we have ever had but at least they seem to show a bit spirit and a bit of fight for the shirt, we have had better footballers who haven't done that in recent years. Get behind them and the manager like the majority of our excellent support did on Saturday.

I'm sick of living in this overhyped overrated bubble. I wasted an hour and a half the other week trying locate Pools in the Premier League table and looking for articles linking Craig Harrison to the Everton job. That's not easy whilst looking through a pair of novelty red spectacles let me tell you, rose tints are much easier on the eyes.

They do make me laugh posters like this bloke. No doubt someone who posts under a different user name elsewhere or even on here, every post tries to be inflammatory or to mix things up. I bet he thinks he's a right hell raiser, well controversial. If you actually took a step back and had a look at what you're doing you are just typing words on the Internet, nobodies that bothered really. I'll never get trolling or people who do it to 'get bites' or even any reaction, all very odd.

Well I went on Saturday and Morecambe were probably the better side, they didn't try and play much because they knew one ball over the top would work against us time after time, I don't think they were 3 better than us. I firmly believe with Watson, ledger, magnay, Donaldson and cassidy in the side we would have won that game. I think we have a competitive team if everyone is fit but Harrison is not having much luck with injuries, it seems we have an operation a week just now. I think the squad is a bit big and doesn't have enough quality in,too many bit part players, we have a decent starting eleven but a poor squad on a whole, get rid of a few bit part players and bring in a couple quality players and we will do well!.

The likelihood is this will happen in the summer when a lot of them are out of contract. We just need these injuries to clear up and I think we will get in the top 5.

Am looking forward to seeing Cassidy playing again now we have some confidence. Not sure if he played in many of our wins at all or did he just feature while we were utter gash at the start of the season? Probably also see a better Cassidy now he wont be hamstrung by having Amond near him.

Donaldson is no big miss for me, neither is Newton (although surely he will look better now compared to earlier in season although he must be about 6/7th choice now)

Watson is a huge miss and would be nice to have Ledger back for a run of games. If we can get Watson/Ledger back then the loss of Magnay wont be too bad either imo.

I still think Donaldson might come good, he was just starting to pick up a bit before that injury

Now come on that's not strictly true, he did grace us with his presence to say he hoped that, sorry predicted that, we'd get beat by bottom side Torquay.

The crazy old optimist.

The draw has proved Craig right once again, very clever management to get them to not turn up so we could concentrate on the League. Morecambe got Shrewsbury away who are flying especially at home.

I never get the line that Morecambe have been shit all season therefore we should have won. All teams turn a corner eventually, they did in this instance and we paid the cost.

Well back to the bread n butter league on satday and what ive seen of that so far we should comfortably qualify for a top 7 finish.
Sort our home sickness out and get our injured players back for the last few months of season maybe even a top 3 finish.

After the first 6 games of this season i dont see how anyone can have the ordasity to come on here moaning.

I think you also have to look at it from Morecambe's perspective. They might be having a lousy season but they were still up against a team from a lower division who are doing OK but nothing more. I'm fairly confident that Morecambe would have expected to beat us on Saturday.

As PJ says though, Shrewsbury away in the next round would have been a terrible draw!

The way I look at it is any teams in the top half of national league winning games regularly with ambitions and confidence of moving into the promotion positions should be beating teams in the lower reaches of league 2 who are will be low on confidence. I think on paper both leagues overlap. I think confidence in the key. Just my opinion.

when we played Cheltenham a couple of year back we were struggling and they were flying.

We beat them and barring a last gasp chance thought we controlled them well.

We are a good conference team with a fully fit squad. As it stands currently we are missing 3 of our better defenders and our only decent out and out striker.

It was always going to be a struggle.

As poor as the performances are to watch at the minute, the fact is we are 6 points off the top spot, over a third of the way through the season and we are yet to field our strongest team. We've had key players out since day one and I repeat, we are 6 points off top spot.

only seen pools 4 times this season and saturday was the first defeat i,ve seen this season. agree with above as results have been better than performances which is better than play well and loose.

It's all just opinion Ray. Mine is that the overall standard in the National League is really poor, which has helped Pools once Harrison made the necessary adjustments - forget about playing it out from the back, bypass midfield more often than not, work on fitness to outlast the opposition. And if the worst comes to the worst, as it often does, rely on the fact that a lot of NL forwards couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo.

I really, really hope Pools manage to go back up this season because watching 3-4 seasons of National League is probably more than I can bear.
