Concurring with Mr Haircut on this. Given he's a player who twists and turns, suddenly changes pace and can expect a lot of close attention from defenders almost every area of his game is going to be affected by not being fully fit. The fact that he wasn't on form after injury will reduce his price as will our situation but £300,000 still looks cheap to me. I'd take it if I was just desperate to get cash in as quick as I could though.

He scored something like 9 goals in 34 games (don't quote me there) in a team that dropped out the league. That would be a decent return for a striker never mind a winger who didn't score or create a goal since February.

There's absolutely no doubting his ability, the facts are we're now NL, our appalling finances are well documented and just as importantly Thomas would have been scouted all season. That means they'll have seen him at his best and also at his worst, they'll have seen him arguing with fans when the going gets tough. In today's market £300k is nothing but we're in a terrible position to negotiate, particularly if the lad has made it clear he wants out.

The only positive seems to be several clubs are showing interest.

Pools winger Nathan Thomas has completed a move to Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee.
The Club accepted a bid from The Blades and the winger was allowed to travel to Sheffield where he has completed a medical and agreed personal terms with the League One champions.

Thomas joined Pools in January 2016 from Mansfield Town and developed in to a key player at The Northern Gas and Power Stadium with some explosive performances on the left flank.

In all, Thomas made 56 appearances for Pools and scored 14 goals, including spectacular strikes against Yeovil Town and Grimsby Town in the 2016/17 campaign.

The 22-year-old will now join Chris Wilder’s South Yorkshire outfit as they make their return to the Championship next season for the first time since 2010/11.

Good luck to the Lad
