Next Saturday is huge now.

We have Yeovil at home - a game we really should be winning - while Cheltenham [22nd] play Newport [24th], Accrington [20th] play Notts County [21st] and Orient [23rd] play Carlisle [3rd].

Win and we're almost certainly going to be eight points clear going into those tricky fixtures to follow, lose and at least two sides will close the gap.

Yeovil play Plymouth mid-week so hopefully they'll pick up a couple of knocks/crippling leg injuries.

Newport's first win in 11. They had a big sort out of players recently and it has had the desired effect. Have Pools left it too late?
Prediction - Pools to finish in bottom four - relegated or survival by a whisker. Hopefully it's the latter as fixtures such as Dover away do not whet the appetite.
Over to the eternal optimists!

Posted late January. At that time there were four 'basket cases' : Orient, Newport, Pools and Notts County.
The latter have changed things around but three of my bottom four are where they belong.
It is now up to us to beat Orient otherwise we will be playing them next season along with Forest Green, Dover et al.
