Is there anywhere I can find out which other clubs have had Winding Up Orders against them this season? (however long they were for, or however they were resolved?)

Or is it just us?

Not saying it doesn't need to improve like. They need to get their scouting in order 1st.

Begs the question...at what age do Pools start taking on youth players?

My mate used to play for pools as a YTS and does some part time scouting for them now.

Any decent younguns now get snapped up by boro Newcastle or Sunderland once they show an ounce of potential.

Pools just kind of have to pick up the scraps.

Been like that for years. . The only way for them to do is to act the same as the big boys and because u can't sign any kid until he's 8 it ultimately down to how much the kids parents heads are turned by the big boys.

Why any kid aged 8 needs the pressure of signing up with a club is beyond me.

Let them be kids.

If my lad was any good, I don't think I'd let him anywhere near a professional club at 8 years old. Just as well he's inherited my football ability.

Yes I agree but a lot of parents don't think like that .. it's more important for them to play with their mates than go rampaging around the country. ...but try telling that to a Mam who's just been told their 8yo is the next Beckham (showing my age here) by one of the "big3"

As you may know my Son played at quite a high level and I can categorically say he had the biggest smile on his face when he was playing in a TEAM with his lads he considered to be his FRIENDS. :)

Wasn't it said Morcambe players not got paid recently. But then again they could have paid the taxman but not players.

It's not Newcastle or Sunderland who seem to pick up the best players from Hartlepool it's Boro. If you think of Andrew Taylor, David Murphy, Brynn Morris and Harry Chapman. I suppose they have the best reputation for developing young players.

I was at a Newcastle game a couple of seasons ago in the posh seats and goth talking to Mick Tait. He works or at least at the time worked at Newcastles academy scouting local kids as young as 5 and 6 which is just bonkers really. The feeling was that the academy set up was a token gesture as none of them will ever get a chance at a club who were at the time more interesting in recruiting foreigners they could sell on than developing first team players from the academy. He said the staff in the academies main role seemed to be use the contacts they had to get the lads a decent move after they get let go. Pools recent recruitment seems aimed towards these type of players which could be a good policy in the long teem.

Back to the winding up petition I'm not going to belittle it but most clubs in bottom 2 divisions are living on the edge I reckon. My mates a Chesterfield fan and he thought they were potentially going out of business this week, they've gone up, made record sales of players last summer (a few million), have doubled their gates in the new stadium but are 10 million quid in debt as it stands. We've effectively been winging it paying bills late it seems maybe because we are living hand to mouth. It hopefully we are not also incurring huge debts. Both scenarios are bad in different ways, but in saying that it's a lack of cash flow which can kill a business (or in our case a football club) in the short term

Apparently the players were paid late last month, there's all sorts wrong within the ground and offices and nothing electrical has been PAT tested for 2 years, info comes from a relative of an employee of the club.

What does someone's Nana know about wiring anyway, they should get an Electrician to look at something like that.

What makes you think it's someone's nanna? It could be postman pat and he does electrics as a sideline.
