Best I've seen Deverdics play yet. He was involved in everything first half.

We've only seen him play centre midfield until Thomas got injured he's not a player who is going to thrive playing in hustle and bustle of League Two in his own half he's quite lightweight and to fair no Bert Trautman. He needs to play in the top third of the pitch where he did yesterday when he looked a very good footballer.

We aren't and don't have Thomas.

We'll take the lead then lose 3-1 ultimately.

We have miles better footballers than the likes of Cheltenham they had some right lumbering oafs, everybody who started for us yesterday is a decent footballer. We are just missing one or two who could make us a really decent team at this level, someone who can break up play in midfield especially. We are a good side with the ball a fairly poor one without it at times, yesterday is the best we've been without it at home this season we pressed and played at a good tempo.

Agree in the most, but don't think we are a 'poor' side without the ball. We have had some really poor moments, but we have also bossed many games and got very little from them Plymouth, Carlisle, Barnet to name a few and did very, very well when out of possession.

Yes we boss games in terms of possession like at Carlisle at Barnet but have conceded really poor goals from the limited possession the opposition have had. We have bossed those games and taken one point from them hence my comment. It's so frustrating we could easily have another 8-12 points on the balance of the games we have played.

I think we lack a bit of experience. Against Notts county they had stead leading the line n later on brought Alan smith on who was clever.

Paynter was that man last year but doesn't seem to have it this year. Hopefully bates can help but some one a bit further up the field might too.

I'm not convinced that an expensive, violent, trouble maker who is in rapid decline is exactly what we need.

He'd be a class above in League Two, he's been targeted by other players trying to wind him up for years so I wouldn't see that being a problem. However Burnley had to make the club revolve around him to keep him happy last year, he's not that good to justify that and a community club like Pools should never do something similar.
We've surely learnt our lesson from signing older players though.

I wander if that defender that Alessandra turned for the first goal has court him up yet.
