Granted things aren't perfect on the pitch now but I don't think we're miles away n off the pitch it's loads better.

The piss taking on here I've always loved, some don't get it, but that's there problem.

Hopefully, yes. in reality we may all be in different "groups" but the aim of every Pools supporter should be to help the Club and it's fans. I'm fairly certain everybody will be working together fairly soon...hopefully on the issue of the Disabled Enclosure. It's a no-brainer as a bridge-building project.

I second that Phil and in the long run all groups can merge as one ,as the disabled project is one we all agree on after your meeting our meeting and the corner flag AGM we can get our heads together and get this over the line ,as a united front we could achieve more that's for sure.

The revamping of the disabled enclosure is an absolute must. Had my eyes opened at the last two home games as I took a friend to the games who's carer could not make it and he asked me as a favour to push his wheelchair for him. Not only is the view bad anyway but gets worse by players from both sides warming up in front of them and by fans off to the loo and food kiosks. Why the hell has this been left for so long, I remember when I was involved with HUDSA this was always on the agenda. So as I say A MUST from any group and club to get this sorted.

One question though, if the trust is for ALL fans why have it at a venue when those in wheelchairs or cannot manage stairs will be excluded.

I wouldnt be spending trust moneyjustnow, as there is rarely smoke without fire.

And there is definitely smoke floating about.

Good point. It's downstairs if anybody that can't access the room turns up. We have nearly 200 members so it's unlikely to be more than the 70-80 downstairs can handle. If not I've got my PA system.

It's a bit different doing it in person, he'd get more than a ban where he can just create a different user name.

His wife is at work until 8.30 and he has the kids, will ask my wife if she will babysit, he did want to go and see who got voted on.

Sounds really positive Chip. A mixed board will hopefully encourage some of the doubting Thomas's to join.

Yes. Only me and Treasurer (Trev B.) from the original Steering Group. Mr I has moved aside on health grounds, Chip didn't put himself forward either.

I'm going to have a non-specific, non-titled role.

Chairman, Sec, Treasurer, Social Media, Fundraiser Sec and Membership Sec all sorted and seconded last night.

Should get onto proper announcement later.

Floater? You should think of a better title than that.

Real shame that Mr I can't do it for now after all the work he put in, hopefully he'll be feeling up to it next year. Sounds like there is real enthusiasm for it though - people are committing a lot of time and effort

In the current climate I would put more faith in the trust and those involved than I would anyone else.

Those still in doubt need to give their heads a really serious wobble.

I'm pleased its back up and running but very disappointed I'm not up to being involved at the moment. Realistically this needs to be carried forward by people based in Hartlepool and that was always the plan. Unfortunately a major heart op and a subsequent infection has knocked me sideways. I'm recovering but it'll take a while to get back to 100%.

At the time we kicked it off which was just after the TMH debacle, there was lots of talk but very little action so I have some pride that we managed to get it off the ground, get the trust registered at the FCA and build a membership and the foundations. Getting signed off by the FCA is no mean feat believe me! Don't forget either that the ground has a kind of protection order (ACV) on it too which was down to the Trust and will, I am certain, be very very valuable in the future.

It's also great that its now run by people with no particular message board affiliations , my being involved at a fairly high profile ensured that it would be accused of being a Bunker thing. We went to some lengths at the start to avoid that perception but my name being attached made that difficult and there were some that tried everything to scupper it through innuendo and jealousy. Ironically the biggest issue that they had was that they weren't involved when they easily could have been.

Not to worry, they are very few in number - half a dozen at most so I would advise that they should be ignored, there are far bigger fish to fry than get concerned by a few pathetic naysayers.

In my view; the whole Trust movement will eventually take over football in the lower leagues and be operated by supporters for supporters as it is in Germany. We have seen at Darlington how a community can breathe new life into a dying club. Even though they're at a lower level I suspect that their passion matches any league club and probably surpasses most simply because they do have a personal stake in it rather than be captive customers as Mr Hodcroft used to insist.

I have no doubt whatsoever that a supporters trust in Hartlepool will be needed in the not so distant future. I frankly don't buy these excuses about winding up orders. There appears to be clear evidence of a serious cashflow issue at the club, anyone with a modicum of business nouse can see that. HMRC don't turn up with a winding up order until they've completely exhausted every other possible avenue including visits and late payment fines. Nevertheless I hope that Gary Coxall works closely with the Trust and is open and honest. He does seem to have the club at heart.

Do remember however that it is not a fundraising organisation for the club. They two organisations can work together on projects but they are two distinctly separate outfits and this should not ever be confused. Ultimately a Supporters Trust is there to protect the supporters interests and speak on their behalf as one voice, ideally by being a presence on the board of the football club.

Good luck everyone and I hope I can help in the future when I'm back to full fitness.

Aye cheers John, you got off your arse and started this along with others and we are grateful. The hours put in with the ACV/Supports Direct/Bank Accounts etc etc must have amounted to a considerable amount!

Sounds like the right people are on the board and full steam ahead!

Thanks, I appreciate the sentiment. It's good that there is a sense of togetherness as I believe it will be needed in the months / years to come.

Pass the tissues! I think Mr I should be honoured for his efforts, maybe if anyone bought a square of turf they would be willing to name it after him. The irrelevant bit of grass coming up in commentary would please me at least.
Alternatively the Mcque Loos has a ring to it.

On a serious note, if the trust is funding disabled area renovations I'd say Mr I has done plenty to warrant a plaque for his efforts at least.

The mcque urinal is more apt.

The club should also start selling moisturiser named after the dancing tart.

Well said John and as i have already and will do so again wish you the best of health,as for working together that process as been put in motion and hopefully after the Friends meeting next week, this will be pushed through to set up a meeting as soon as possible i have contacted PHIL,RONNIE and hope this will happen asap.

Working together? Are you serious?

Now before you answer that, can we clarify something here.

The Trust was set up to protect HUFC from going bust, or at least to be there to rescue it if it did.

There is no other agenda.

It is not the Disabled association, which does a great job for the disabled.....but is a charity.

It is not the Corner flag, which is a sort of working mens club........and not a trust.

It is not the supporters association, which frankly I have no idea what it does.

Which brings me on to your project. This Friends of group. What are you exactly?

Are you a registered charity? If not, why are people giving you money?

Are you a nationally recognised organisation, like the Trust?

If you are none of the above, then what are you?

Splitters?

For Trust committee members, can one of you clarify please?

For those like me, that have yet to commit to joining the trust, what has the trust got to do with this friends of lot?

If I am to give cash to the Trust, I want guarantees that it is there to rescue the club in its hour of need, and not to get pot holes repaired outside the ground, as that is the responsibility of the club and council.

And it is not there to give £50 from the meat draw to the youth team.

Its time to get this clarified.

The Trust should answer to no one other than its members. And take the meetings away from the Corner Flag too, as that is in danger of clouding the issue.

The different organisations are there to do different things, and none of them is a Trust.

Keep it that way, or my cash stays in my pocket.

and to make the point very clear Mr Coxall. If people join your group, and by doing so, give you monay, do you accept that you are diverting funds away from where its actually going to be needed? And are therefore hindering the trust?
