By the way yesterday I copyrighted that badge so I get the place on the board and the executive box. As I'm away and can't get home so often I'm prepared to rent it out for half a glass of milk and a tenner per game

I'm a bit surprised at Coxall and co - after all, it's not just us Yakkers who aren't from the town, there's pockets of Poolie support all over the place, from Norway to New York, which I assumed the new owners were interested in building up. Don't see how advertising that HUFC 'belongs' to 90-odd thousand folk in one town in North-East England helps build interest and support anywhere else.

There's a clue in the name anyway -Hartlepool United F C. Other football clubs from A C Milan to Accrington Stanley tend to settle for that and keep club badges simple - name (year of foundation optional) logo or coat of arms. They don't clutter things up with inconsequential strap lines!

I can't see a reason for our allegedly progressive new owners keeping it anyway, other than than as a political gesture - "We're the town's club, so sell us the ground "

To please everyone (and I include yakkers in everyone, apparently they're people these days) how about changing 'The Town's Club' to 'A club for everyone, even those that groom kids on CB radios'

Well I read somewhere recently an opinion that people who haven't lived in the town or live away currently shouldn't have an opinion on Pools.....(even if they've been to practically every home game since 1979 in my case until the last 4 years). So maybe the slogan should be 'Feck off everyone who doesn't live in Hartlepool?

On a serious note I would imagine there is a pretty high % of our fans who no longer live in the town or never have but have family allegiances or come from Billingham, Yakkers etc
