I'll have my 2 penneth. Without knowing any facts, it would appear to me Magnay after being sent off spat, which happened to hit a spectator. An accident. although not deliberate it was deemed a crime. Pools backed him, but the punishment was harsh for an accidental incident. Unfortunately rules are rules. And to throw an oily rag on the fire as such, don't bans/fines get bigger if appeals fail? Which would from threads mean as there appears to be no conclusive evidence either way then the appeal would fail and extra ban be added. Potentially in this case the club would support the player, but would behind the scenes realise a failed appeal would just increase the ban/fines.

Cutting losses etc, for a main player?

Or I may be wrong! Probably

What's odd, the 'video' is the footage that Wycombe have taken from the match. It hasn't disappeared I just don't imagine many people have the entire 90 minutes other than the two clubs.

The spit didn't hit anyone he spat onto the ground according to the Echo. We know so little of the detail it's difficult to make any sort of fair comment on this.

Surely if one this video it shows him spitting on the floor then an appeal is more than justified

I suppose you could still spit at someone without hitting them, if the intent is there it's probably as punishable as if you did. I suspect more than anything that footage will be inconclusive and not enough to prove him innocent (or guilty?) Also based on the past and the way appeals from lower league clubs are dismissed. They couldn't care less that a Hartlepool United player will miss 6 games, no lost sleep to them.

As I said though it's hard to defend or condemn him as we know very little of what happened.

So how come Paula Radcliffe didn't get a ban for crimping one off in front of millions of fans?

I'm sorry, but I cant believe he would get a 6 game ban for spitting on the floor. There would be no football being played in England if that was the case, as everyone would be banned.

If the video evidence confirms he spat on the floor Pools should have appealed. The fact that they havent and Moore doesnt deny he spat in the direction of the fans suggests there's something in it. You cant accidentally spit can you ? I'm also not sure many fans lie on the floor to watch games.

There's obviously something in it as it's got this far, I haven't seen anywhere that he actually spat on anyone. As I say for the third time it's all assumption on our part though.

I was reffing in a 6 A-side league and had yellow carded a player who was not happy about it and as he went past me at one point spat on the floor right towards where my feet were, I felt that the player had spat toward me in a disrespectful manner but couldn't send him off as I couldn't say for sure he had done it deliberately at me as he was running for the ball. Maybe this was a similar situation where the fan has said something and Magnay has spat on the floor in his direction but not directly at him, does seem a little harsh to me

Maybe but you wouldn't want her doing that in front of you. Fetish Bob might unless he's got rid of that glass coffee table.
