and before any Darlo smart arse says anything, IOR have already made it clear that HUFC is self sustaining in terms of player salaries.

Clubs like Coventry are clearly still paying out salaries to players amounting to many thousands of pounds per week, cos otherwise those players would have left. No way are they on 5-600 quid a week like they are at most league 2 clubs

Not wanting to piss on darlow 4 calling birds 3 french hens chips but I do hope they realise that when they raise the £75k, it will be announced that it is nowhere near enough.

£75 will likely not be enough to sort the pitch out, which is shit and is infact a rugby pitch.

And if you all thought the parking at the echo arena was dodgy, the chaos at blackwell mesdows if they get 500 there will be funny as fuck.

There must be loads of people in darlow with way too much disposable income. stpid

At this time we are not accepting cash donations as this has proved problematic in the past. However bucket collections will be set up at home games.

They need to face facts they will never play in the league again and will be luck to even have a team in five years.

Coventry's FFP will be based on last season when they were still at the Ricoh. I reckon there'll be penalties later. Their fans have boycotted Northampton according my mate who is a fan, which is why they take so many away fans. It's a very complicated situation as regards club ownership, sponsorship and all the other bollocks.

It seems what I heard at the weekend is spot on.

So as well as the woefully conservative £75,000 to move ground, they also need £50,000 just to survive in the short term.

Laughable.

Oh and that player who Fatty Eats Ketamin was boasting about being on trial at Blackburn...... was released today.

They're fucking clueless.

Its like they believe somehow fundraising is a viable business plan, even proper charities for causes that millions of people care about have to rely on more than goodwill, donations and a few local businesses who want some publicity.

As shite as losing your club would be they'd be better off just working out how to survive instead of letting the club be ran by unqualified half wits who have Champagne dreams but even can't balance the books of a low level non-league side where other clubs manage on tiny budgets.

I see one has suggested just taking out a CVA to get rid of all debt and just reform calling themselves Darlington AFC.

I hope all of the firms giving Darlow credit lose fucking thousands. they deserve to.

Never knew there was this many stupid not nice people in the world.

So, in all, its going to take 125k, quickly, all from donations, to

A) Save Darlington 1883 and..

B) Move them back to Darlington?

C) Won't happen.

If you read what the £75k is for carefully, you will see that it is mainly to pay for consultants fees.

If there are plans to upgrade that rugger place, then its going to need an Architect, Structural Engineer, Project Manager etc.

If any of these muppets think that they can pay for that and improve the rugger place, they must be on drugs. Very strong ones.

The £75k will disappear quicker than Raj and George 1 & 2.

Oh, and if they need another 50k to see the season out, then that means they must have spend 50k on the first half of the season.

If they want to progress again, then that £100k spend this season will be £150k next. I would love to know where THAT money is to come from.

Unless they are going to get fans to donate every year.

Oh, and while they spend this, they still wont have built the ground they are now donating for.

Mad as a box of frogs these loids.

The whole thing is incredibly sad. It looks like we really won't play them ever again.

How can they have made the same mistakes over and over again?

errrrrr, because they never learn.

Its not rocket science.

They start a new club, in the northern league, and immediately spend money on players, money they didnt have.

Dumb fuckers.

So if they need £50k to secure the short term future, the £75k needed to move shouldn't even be mentioned!

I've decided to make the sacrifice of not to routinely attend away matches for the next 12 months. I reckon on average I spend £40 on each away match covering transport, beer, food, entrance, programme and raffle. Instead I'm going to donate the savings to the Darlo cause. I'm still going to go to the odd special one, like Kendal away on New Year's Day.

If 99 others followed my lead and made a similar sacrifice and attended only 4 away matches instead of 21, the proceeds would be 100 x 17 x £40 = £68,000, a very tidy sum.

Think about it, if there was no Darlo FC you wouldn't have any away matches to go to. So make the sacrifice for 1 year and stick the savings into the fundraising scheme of your choice.

Seen this on the Darlo 183 board..They honestly just need to let go of the club....

"The odd special one, like Kendal away"

The ground is full of odd special ones clearly, and the directors box.

When I say 'full' I mean about 800, which is a pretty full bus stop.

Beauty here from Andrew Wilkinson err sorry Loid Lucan;

"So, two players have left and one has signed and it was all revealed during the day yesterday. Not one single line about it in the Hartlepool (Northern) Echo today. Still, there's a great big and very, very interesting and worthy story about how Craig Hignett is learning all the time in his role at Victoria Park. Pity it will only be read by the three (maybe an over-estimate) Hartlepool fans who actually buy the paper."

I buy the Northern Echo and not the Hartlepool Mail it is available in every shop in Town that sells newspapers, much like in Darlington as it is a North East/North Yorkshire newspaper and not a town local rag.

This bloke has been having digs at the Echo since the Tinternet existed he's either the Gazette fella or a very close family member or stalker like fan.

Either way, what an arse.

I would love to break his nose. He hates Pools, and many times had digs at Pools in his reports in the Gazette (obviously I had access to the paper because of working on Teesside for 25 years...always interesting to read what they put about Pools and Darlo - but he was the one who also wrote the news stories about Pools for that rag)

What a cock I don't wish what happened to them on any decent footy fans, but I definitely hope he is hurting/crying cos he deserves every ounce of pain he is getting

Read that, Wilkinson

In a moment of weakness I wandered over to their board. They lined up against a Sunderland 11 this week in from of 188 fans, their accountant probably thinks another 3 would have have made it 1883 fans.
