Basically a pub that is so small there is no need to employ anybody.

At the moment they are a novelty but would hate to think in the future all we had were micro pubs and chain pubs, but that is the way it is looking

Taking this country back to the days of the beerhouse.
The Rat Race is good for beer, but if you want to see what pubs used to be like you can't beat The Globe

The only thing that stops me and a lot of other people going to pubs is a lack of pubs.
See, here in Montpellier, which is like the size of the whole of Teeside, there's roughly the same number of pubs as the last village I lived in in the UK, and none of them are anything to write home about.
Oh and the beer being twice the price is irrelevant.

I wouldn't say cheap booze in the supermarket has ruined local pubs, the appeal of the bars in the town centre such as King Johns, Pearl Bar and even Showroom where pint prices can be £2 under whereas in the likes of local pubs such as the Fens is £3+.

I disagree. The town has always been cheaper than the local pubs. When I was younger everyone used to drink out, but the trend is to sit at home now, which is made easier with very cheap supermarket drink.

People just don't leave the house like they used to - they are spending less time shopping, playing/watching sport, drinking/eating out etc. We're going to be a nation of insular fat fuckers before long.

Where there is demand for bigger pubs they will remain, but micro-pubs are a great alternative to no pub at all.

Maybe I'm the odd one out but where the fuck is the pleasure in staying in to drink as a mater of routine?
