Reading a bit about him apparently he turned Newcastle down to sign for Falkirk.

Useful little winger. Speeds past people and puts in a good cross. What more could you want?

Sounds promising to me. As someone said, he's got a proper footballer's name if nowt else.

One of my nephews is quite good at footy and he's called Wilf, nailed on pro in a few years I reckon.

He talks a good game:

And the 24-year-old told SportMail that the ‘Cooper factor’ had everything to do with his decision to join the League Two promotion candidates.

“I turned down Plymouth, Shrewsbury, Dagenham & Redbridge and Bristol City to come and sign for Hartlepool and Colin Cooper,” Compton revealed.

“He was caretaker at Bradford where I was playing.

Compo can you please do something like quote the first couple of lines and post a link to the rest with "read more here" or something. We don't want any copyright infringement whinging from the Mail.
Ta.

ETA: never mind I did it for you. All copy & pastes from the press must be limited to small snippet of the article or the Bunker gets into trouble.

Shows the amount of respect he has for Cooper if he turned down all those other clubs to come here.

That reminds me of the interview they showed on BBC last night with Junniho (or however you spell it) about his time at Boro where he listed some of the great players he played with including Hignett, do you think we could get him to send us the next Naymar here on loan?
