Agreed, it hasnt been open for about 2 years, so it's built up a nice head of steam for the re-open.

For once I agree with Pubey

It's a Hartlepool thang, a miserable twat will be a complete misery and then when told to do one, they come out with fishing shite

Aren't Hartlepool Council predicting a few million quid profit for the town as a result of the Ships?

From what I heard all the security, buses etc are coming from out of town. However I think this is a great thing and the local pubs, b and b's and shops will see a massive boost.

Am I the only one who thinks the council have massively over estimated how many people will turn up?

Gutted I cant come to the re-open at Jax, all my mates will be there like the good old day before the idiots arrived. Have to work this weekend so cant get home and also its in the middle of my holidays to Croatia (just came back and its brilliant) and NY in two weeks time.

Chip, did your daughter dj there before and how old is she? I probably know where face, like most in Hartleppol, that hang around idols, jaxs etc

she's only 19, too young for jax first time round.

i used to get in there myself when it first opened every once in a while and it was ok.

the 2 new lads who have it are from peterlee and are aware of what happened in the past that led to it closing down. i still think it will only be a matter of time before the rarfs spoil it again.

I would never though I would say this but thats why hartlepool needs somewere like 42 or the wesley to keep all the idiots in one place. The only reason they went to jax's in the first place as these shut down and all the women were going to jax, either for the music or to try and pull as they put it "a bandy type bloke"

Forgive my ignorance, but why did it get closed down in the first place?
I went in there myself a few times in the early days, seemed like a pretty good scene

i reckon even a pools striker could score this weekend.

Shame they'll be the other side of the Pennines then!!

Cant understand why some people are whinging about this event anyway. It gets the town in the spotlight for good reasons. Mind you I'm glad I dont live down the marina anymore cos I bet it would be a nightmare getting in & out!

For me jax went down hill when stu and andy douglas left and stopped doing promotions for them, they used to book some brilliant bands that are now well in the uk, maximo park etc

Them 2 left but where never replaced.

Then escobar opened, the douglas brothers went there and so did the trade.

Its what I refer to as getting 'Hartlepooled'

A load of decent places and things open/happen and the rarfs/doyles/cokeheeds knacker it in a short as time as possible

Hope the Tall Ships is a success. I worry that as another poster has said that the Council hasnt over-estimated the amount of visitors.

Be a good party atmosphere down the Marina, some canny bands on, Beer and hopefully some good weather. I am a little dissapointed with some aspects of the Councils organisation of the event. But hope the town comes out in a positive light.
