Just for the record..........I don't consider myself to be any better than any other Pools fan, far from it.
However I tend to listen to the views of people who go to matches before the ones who don't.
For instance we have people voicing opinion and criticising other people who are more "qualified " to give opinion by their attendances, and these same people can't find the ticket office cos its dark outside.

If it helps, and I know it wont, but you have the opportunity to at least think about it, should you wish to take that opportunity, the reason most of us have packed in, is because we abhore this sort of 'I'm a cleverer get than you' type of post. It's not about 'opinion' any more it's about shooting the opposing 'opinion' down and that's just shite.

I'm entitled to wear a medal. I know another bloke who is entitled to wear a good few, but we get some other bloke who knows someone who is entitled to wear one (or more) and instantly he's an expert. I stopped posting and ult reading the board a while back. Will pop in a couple of times a week and if something going down will comment.

I stopped due to the negativity over my positivity (and the fact that I was a labelled a freeloading club c-unt or similar) - yet i now see people who were being negative being positive.

As for some of those who allegedly no longer post, well that isn't really the case is it.

Countless people hide on here and surprisingly the ones who make the more honest (even if not everyone's cup of tea) consistent opinions are the ones who tend to be more than public with who they are.

To dedicate so much time, emotion and anger to this board baffles me nowadays - even though there will no doubt be times when i have had prolific posting spells - there are other things to do and with the close season being here, it would be good to see some 'pub crack' on here when I do decide to pop in for a read, and not just shite about every fuc-ker left right and centre.

Retained list - I would have commented earlier, but didnt, wanted to absorb it first but there was only Rowell that was a surprise to me who was going, although I was disappointed with three leaving in total. The players kept may have surprised me more, but we have them, be them past it, never gone get it, or just don't want it. Whether I think they can last 90 minutes or not, or can only shoot round corners matters not now.

What I wonder more is how much have we released off the salary by freeing those players who have gone and how many (and what quality) will we bring in?

The close season may save this board, or it may kill it. The choice is yours.

Fair points there. It hasnt really been mentioned so far as we have focussed on the "quality" of players shown the door as opposed to the quantity but the lack of players exiting must surely mean that we will not have a large quantity of new signings (certainly not on a par with last season anyway)

We just have to hope that CT uses whatever funds there are effectively. Typically for every good CT signing there are probably two poor/indifferent ones.

One thing which is also concerning is that we are not blessed with many promising youngsters who may just make the step up straight into the first team.

Hopefully CT will prove me wrong but in all honesty assuming we only have funds for 2 or 3 new players and with the 'tactics' of Chris Turner can anyone HONESTLY see us having a mid-table season. I dont want to be negative but using your heads and not your hearts WHY would we have a better season than the last one?

I think thats an honest question and I would be very interested in the opinions of those who tend to be the most optimistic on here, MrB, Katcha, MadJohn.

You forgot to add, "and has usually, within that hour, made some sort of direct contribution to either a goal for the opposition or their best chance of the game!".

our form since odonovan arrived was top half form, so basically we are only one good striker away from being a top half team. If turner can bring in a good striker and strengthen the defence and midfield then I would say top half would be the minimum I would expect. Whether you agree with it or not doesn't concern me in the slightest.

I think the Bunker is far better than most one club message boards.

Like most boards it probably has patches where it is worse, or better, than usual but for most of the time it is basically decent. As an exile I really value the match reports and general Hartlepool related craic.

I do sometimes find the level of racism hard to put up with and it puts me off posting after I've argued with somebody about it, there have been times when I've felt very ashamed of having recommended the Bunker as the best Pools board. Having said that a board that is purely football related often lacks humour and getting the balance between allowing opinions and stopping offensive shyte isn't a job I envy the mods for.

My least favourite posts are the smug, "I'm cleverer than you" ones but, if I've had a few pints, I can end up doing them myself without meaning to. Sorry about that.

The only poster I know well who packed in was Gigha Poolie, I think he just got sick of making well informed points about scientific stuff only to find he was shouted down by posters who were revelling in a bout of sub-Clarkson type stupidity. I think thats a shame and I'd rather he was still posting but I can see his point.
