OK.

My last word.

They are too expensive so I wont be getting one.

I suspect more people will agree with me than wont. I suspect season ticket sales will be very low.

Thanks for listening.

Although I will be taking advantage of the early bird discount and forking out a lump of money I make a point of not spending anything else inside the ground on matchdays and very little in the way of merchandise. I also won't be going to any away games until we look like we might actually win a few of them...

Dibbs, shelling £500 out now is a lot of money to most people but in return you're getting 23 games of football so you're looking at about £22 game for 3 (?) of you. Pay on the gate and it'll be the best part of £35 quid I reckon.

It's an absolutely cracking deal for people with kids and if I was you I'd be doing everything within my power to snap one up.

Spot on. It's easy to forget we made an abominable start to our last 4th division campaign.

The kids will be getting one.

I wont.

Its a cracking deal for kids. Its not for adults.

How the fook can anyone say paying £350 to wtach division 3 football is a cracking deal? Are you all foookin mad? stpid

I am assuming it will still be £18 to get in on the gate next season?

If so, and it fookin better be, it will be halfway through the 20th game before I save anything.

Is it really good value? sctatchinghead

Sorry, I was on the understanding that you only got the cheap kids ones if you got an adult one like previous years.

£350 works out at £15 quid a game. It's not the best deal in the world but it's not the worst. I won't be getting one based on that as I can't promise I'll be at every game.

The debt the club incurs is netted off against tax (Mr Spender can you please explain what how and why they do this).

What they actually do, is take the loss, convert it into shares in the club and then buy them all thus wiping out the cash that HUFC owes IOR. i.e They pay themselves off with extra shares.

There's several big advantages in doing it this way. Firstly, after they've bought the shares it's seen as re-investment in a group company. That's where IOR save on the tax. Secondly, we don't owe the bank on a line of credit so they don't incur the charges which would be collossal. Also it means that some arsey rugby fan banker can't look at the business and put in an administrator with his astronomical charges. Thirdly making a loss means no tax on profits for HUFC. It would be almost a disaster for Pools to make a profit.

Now all we have to do is stop Durham Constabulary lining their pockets with outrageous charges for supervising 87 away fans from Yeovil.

If you miss more than five games (which I undoubtedly will) its not worth buying a season ticket..
On the other hand if I was offered the option to buy "half" a ticket or some combination ie pay for nine see 11 or pay for five see six I'd b in like flint.. ( As said earlier you'd could only allow this option at the start of the season (and maybe December) to ensure maximum advance revenue and prevent bandwagonning (not that this would be a problem)..

The only reason I can see that's preventing it is maybe they think Season Ticket sales would be reduced and people would buy the half books..

Come on Pools think about it ..you know it makes sense..

I think the price is reasonable, Im just disappointed with the early bird having to be paid in full in such a short period of time. I can afford it, many cant and they have had time to advertise that at least it would be reintroduced, and that it may have to be paid in such a short time. That my only complaint

Chip is right, but the rest of you…………….for fooks sake…….wake up.

How any of you saying this is a good deal must be the sort that will go out and spend thousands on a TV just cos its got sony written on it.

At £18 a shot, attending all 23 home games will cost you £414 to stand.

A Season ticket costs you £350

A huge saving of £64. or 3 ½ games. That’s £64 over 9 months. For an outlay of £350??????????????????????????????????

Miss one match and the saving is a massive £46

And those of you planning the 10 month interest free period……………..whats the foookin point? You are seriously bonkers. sctatchinghead

Only those taking advantage of the early bird offer make a real saving.

You can fool some of the people some of the time…………you can just fool some poolies forever. rolfl

The point is, I cannot lay my hands on £315 at the moment , but by the time I can - the price will have gone up to £354.

So rather than pay £354 in one go, and put a huge dent in my monthly finances - I'l pay £35.40 over 10 months. It's not costing me any more that way (well, the £10 admin charge - but that just means I'll forgo a take-away one night), so I'd be silly to turn the option down.

Can't see what is so daft about that. sctatchinghead

for the seating season ticket on "interest free" you'll be paying £410 effectively £41/ month for a standing ticket at the gate you'll pay £41.44.. so there it is a grand saving of 44p  per month if you're willing to stand.

Totally agree with your point its like paying for the gym, your phone etc you could pay it all at once but noone ever does as you can manage with £35+ quid coming out of your account every month rather than £350 in one go

The thing is your pay on the door method doesnt work for everybody, Some months we can have 2 or 3 home games at once, £60 may not be a lot for a lot of people but for me it is.. My work hours have been cut. So i will be forking out the £315 as at the end of the day it's all purchased and i dont need to spend a penny in the ground afterwards.

When Christmas used to come about i could sometimes never afford to come to Pool's and was gutted at the fact i couldnt afford it but paying for my ticket in advance gives me that peace of mind.

Don't get me wrong this deal isn't for everybody and i can see what your saying, But unexpected bills etc make this £315 offer very appealing to myself, Luckily i can always pass it to the old man if i am working one day so it's not going to waste.

The thing to remember is that the club still has to make money and if the club virtually give season tickets away, we will end up like Darlo. We can't slash prices like Wigan Athletic who have really low season ticket prices in comparison with other PL clubs but they get millions from Sky and other sponsorships.

I don't think £315/£350 is unreasonable and for those who moan its a lot to pull out at once - why didn't you put a bit of money aside each month for the last few months? Everyone knows when the prices are announced.

A 'early bird' standing ticket is £315, a saving of £99. It helps if you don't get your standing and sitting prices mixed up.

Sorry you've lost me on that one. As I understand it, if you buy a season ticket for seating it will cost £399, paying £39.90 a month for 10 months, on the interest free deal. If you 'pay on the door' you will be paying, probably £40 or £60 per month depending on how many home games in a particular month, but laying out £460 in total. I am of course assuming that you are a fanatical supporter who would never miss a home game. I do also realise that, unless your working circumstances have changed, that doesn't apply to yourself Mr Point.

So what would have been your bright idea for the deals on the season tickets and what price would you have got you interested and not be seen as "to expensive"

£276.00 to stand.

Giving a true incentive to buy. And we would sell loads more. Giving more people more disposable income to spend in the ground. Which they would.

Also give people the chance to pay over three wage dates......End of May, June, July.

There. Fookin simple.

Any thing else you need advice on?

So £12 a game then. This is only £39 difference in the price of a £315 ticket for the millhouse/town end, or to put it another way a night out or a new shirt (which I never buy). Your point of people spending more in the ground doesnt hold up, no matter what the prices are to get in I spend the same every week, two pints at half time, a reduction of £6 a match isnt going to make me drink any faster.

How many season tickets do you think pools will sell to adults. I bet you its less than a thousand.

Therefore the largest proportion of fans will be £18-£20 at the gate. Thus meaning they will spend less in the ground.

If more people were incentivised to get a season ticket, more people like you, would spend money in the ground.

You asked me to give a figure, and I did.

You might say its too cheap. But its only to cheap if you are the belief that to charge £18 - £20 is fair and reasonable to charge at the door.

I am of the opinion that even that is too expensive for 3rd division football. And goging by our crowds over the last two years an awful lot of people agree.

I still go though......so I am entitled to moan, surely?

I have answered the first point in my other post, people just beacuse they pay less to get in doesnt mean they will buy more. If the cinema is £3 cheaper do you always think I know I will have some popcorn now and some fizzy pop.

The second point is madness to assume other wise, we loose money every year, why dont we put these prices down further and loose even more money which in turn would get IOR to the end of their tether. But lets look at the short term goal shall we in the fact that you can save £30+ quid over a year and not the long term in which we probably wouldnt have a club.

Sir Alan call off the search ADG has the buisness mind for you, "your hired"

Whoaaa tiger. Calm down.

You forget that I will be there regardles sof how much they charge. My two lads will also be there.

We can argue all we want about we think is reasonable.

The proof will be in the numbers that come through the doors.

I know many people that wont go to pools because they say "Its now too expensive".

You are arguing with me, yet I dont need convincing to go.

There are many ways to increase turnover, merely charging more at the door maybe isnt the best long term strategy.

Do you honestly think pools do there best behind the scenes, commercially?

I dont know, but there are plenty of people on here moaning about them....eg....the new book.

I could argue with you all day, without getting personal, but whats the point?

I will be at pools more than you next season, and Pools will get plenty of my cash. So I am doing my bit.

Agree that we have a poor behind the scenes set up at pools and this need to be sorted. You say you could argue all day without getting personal, but scoring points on me saying that you will be there more time than me next season, isnt that personal, well done for not living 200m away from the ground due to work.

I wasnt point scoring.

I understand you live miles away. I wouldnt expect you to be there. To be honest I dont expect people just to go, even if they live in the town.

I have spent this whole thread arguing that its too expensive but knowing all along I will be there every game.

So I was arguiung on behalf of others less fortunate than myself.

No offence was meant.

Fair enough and I know people who cant go because its to expensive and the majority of people on here will be there every game (or most games for people who work or are exiles), I am just saying that the price as to made and I think in the current market IOR have done all they can to balance a managable debt they can wipe out at the end of the season with bringing in new better players to have a squad capable of doing something next season.

1) We get big crowds when Pools are inspiring the Poolies. We get bad crowds when Pools play consistent shite. Gates have ten times the cube root of sweet fook all to do with season ticket prices.
2) People keep comparing season ticket costs with on-the-gate prices without having seen what surprises are in store on the latter front. mwahahaha

what those running pools need to do is set prices at rates that will attract more fans without bankrupting the club. they could reduce prices by reducing the wage bill. you could reduce the wage bill/running costs at pools without weakening the first team imho.

Reducing the wage bill would reuslt in a worse squad than we have now and we cant attract players as it is with low wages and being in the north-east.

This is getting a bit silly, we know some people will never be satisfied.

I will be buying 4 season tickets again this year and will be saving about £130 on last years prices.

My seats will be guaranteed - I won't have to queue for any big game tickets - I will use the vouchers for discounted meals in the Centenary lounge - and I will be supporting my team.

I am more than satisfied
