From Mr.I's film review....

'Its structure is borrowed from Goodfellas, the shooting at the beginning sets up the final act, but it never achieves anything like the frenetic pace or intricate detail of Scorsese’s masterpiece.'

As if a British Film like 'Cass' would have the same kind of budget as a Scorsese Film!!!! rolfl

FFS....'Cass' probably had a budget of £100,000!!!! rolfl rolfl rolfl rolfl

Mr.I....I don't even think you've read ALL of that review....you've skirted over it and found it was slagging the Film and then put it on here....cos no-way would you have put it on the board if you had actually read things like the above!!!! confised confised rolfl rolfl

No, I don't want to fight him, I'd lose quickly and severely. He's 20 odd stone of muscle and I'm 13st 10 of what used to be muscle but is starting to go a bit wobbly.

Of course I can't judge his reaction in the Belfast situation, no one can, not even their own. I was generalising, the whole 'no surrender' thing used to piss me off whenever I heard it sung.

You're right in that the forces mirrors civilian life; theres some tough nuts, a lot of average people and a bunch of softies. This goes for in uniform and out. I was in the middle group so no thanks, I have no desire to fight Mr Pennant but that doesn't change my opinion of him as a thug.

Fair enough that is your opinion....but the Film was about his Life....maybe you should get a Film made about yours....you never know it could be a Blockbuster!!!!

Fcking hell, please tell me you didn't watch that film and enjoy it? It was horrendous and his story is boring. So he got adopted from a young age.....so do thousands of people but they don't resort to mindless violence because they didn't feel accepted.

He really played on the 'I love my mum and dad' theme and that was cringeworthy. Who the fck doesn't love their mum and dad?

I normally like the footie violence films for comedy reasons but Cass by far the worse one I have seen and his story is utterly utterly boring.

'maybe you should get a Film made about yours....you never know it could be a Blockbuster'- I accept my life is relatively boring and would never be made into a film. It's a shame Carol didn't do the same.

some people will do whatever it takes to make money.... he's no different to any other gangster. If publicity aids him, then he'll use it. It's all about making money - he knows how to do it and people hand it over, whether by choice or otherwise. These days it's by choice, probably wasn't always the case.
He is high profile, but there are hard men in this town who now have the respectable business persona, but we all know how they got to the top.
I don't see the difference between him and any of them - it has always happened and it always will.
For Cass Pennant, insert the names of any other hard men in the country......... why single him out?
Roy Pretty Boy Shaw, Lenny MaClean.... various ex boxers now running security firms..... you can't call one without calling them all.

Give me the tools of my trade eg: a ghillie suit and an L42, and I'd take him down every single time.

Do you think a Ghillie suit would help you in East London?

Maybe a Stone Island jacket would help you blend in a bit better Mr I.

They might have been the 'hardest crew' during the 70s and 80's, they may still lead the field in national and international hoolyganizm, they may be lead by one of the hardest men in England BUT

I watched a British film called The Trench last night, all about the last few days leading up to the Somme offensive, and it was excellent. Danny Dyer was in it, albeit a young Danny Dyer before his mockney days, and he actually played a very good part. Human Traffic and Goodbye Charlie Bright are also very good. It's the slippery slope since Football Factory that seems to have turned him into the wanker we know today.
