we were awful on saturday. didnt ever really look like scoring against one of the weaker teams in this division at the moment. orient played better than us all game and deserved the win. Thornton run thw show on saturday. it was only 1-0 but could easily of been 3-0 as they hit the bar twice aswel. we dont play to our advantaghes which are kyle, we have him up top and dont even play it up to him and use him as we should - a target man. you could see him getting more and more frustrated on saturday at not being used correctly. I think something needs to be done amd sharpish as at this rate we are going to get relegated. i mean fair enough we won 4 before saturday but we havent exactly played well in them 4 games and were lucky more thna anything. if we come up against the better teams in the division like Leeds, Leicester we will be made a joke of and i can hionestly see them spanking us!

At what rate are we going to be relegated?

In the last 5 games we have won 4 lost 1

I'd happily carry on that sequence all season.

'up top'

When I were a lad, it was called 'up front' and 'two banks of four, with two up top' was a 4-4-2

Fooking Sky Sports has a lot to answer for rage banghead

are these two on a wind up mission or what?

at no point (so far) do we look bad enough to go down. we asked for the defense to become more solid which it has to an extent.

we are not going to win EVERY game.

We will beat good teams.

We will lose against bad teams.

We will make it hard for ourselves when it should be easy.

We are, after all, Hartlepool United.

all i meant in my earlier post was if we carry on losing to the weaker teams there is a chance as they will close the gap on us and the bottom clubs and it is all well and good saying we won 4 out of 5 but if we lose 4 in a row which could easily happen with us, then we will be right back down there in the relegation mix, its just as quick to drop back down as it was to rise up to the mid table position we are in now from the 4 wins. if we carry on playing like we did saturday then we look as if we will lose more thna we win and by losing to the lower teams will take us closer to the dreded relegation zone.

I agree and the next few weeks should be very interesting, new managers for some of the poorer teams, it should start sorting the wheat from the chaff.

surely we should be striving for play offs not being happy about "being too good to go down"?????

There are some poor teams down there yes. we lost to one of them on saturday! orient were 3rd bottom before saturday and we never looked as good as them and werre outplayed!

the truth has to be a thing of fact doesn't it?

you speculating what might happen if we lose a billion games in a row is far from fact.

here's a question...

What happens if we finish, say 9th or 10th in the league?

would you class that as a good season? would you be satisfied?

Well I wouldn't say it makes him an idiot, I would say he worries a bit too much. No-one can say what will happen in football, that's why the bookies get rich, as they do from a lot of sports.

Yes, we had a setback on Saturday. No, we wouldn't like to be Crewe or Cheltenham at the moment.

Maybe you either enjoy it or don't, but isn't that the fascination with the game?? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Sometimes it's champagne, sometimes it's cat wee.
