We do need a left back but until we do he's the best we've got. As a squad player fair enough, he's now what they used to call a utility player and he can fit in at most areas of the pitch and do a job so its hard to criticise this contract on a footballing level. In terms of booting people out the door there are more urgent cases so I wouldn't have him at the front of the queue either and as someone rightly said; you don't change an entire team overnight and expect instant results. For the future though, we need better than him in defence.
