My Dad always said kids who tried to act grown up too early always regress in middle age ( he used language more ‘industrial’ though than ‘regress’)
Here was proof, we really are going backwards.

What’s the problem with what the fella was doing, don’t be so judgmental, the fella enjoys being out and same as you with your dogs, he wasn’t doing anyone any harm was he ?

I have this picture in my head of a Iggy Pop lookalike wearing a vest with the" I Love California" on it,Snowy? sctatchinghead

It wasn’t a pretty sight, even the dogs looked. You aren’t far off though, more Jools Holland but unfeasibly tall.

possibly he might have been someone who wants to be looked at but doesn,t give a toss. her in the kitchen always says about why do fat lasses wear this or that. always answer that you would not look twice if they were not wearing what they did.

thats something else thats got an overexagerated stance behind it instead of a neutral one. you think its a new invention where things like that were going on back in the days when i was 15. guess it was even more rife at allboys and all girls schools back then.

He obviously doesn’t give a toss, which is why he looks like that…. so he is noticed…..but just because he assumes he looks ok …..doesn’t mean he does.
If someone says you can’t say anything, they do it to shock or have an ego, trouble is …..other people have other opinions. He looked like a fool, not antnsttention seeker, just a bog standard fool…or was it tool.

Every one is entitled to their own opinion but I can’t remember where I have been shot down, enlighten me, btw your quote took a bit of deciphering obviously you weren’t top of the class in English.
Everything I post on the Bunker is based on fact, because posters don’t agree with me doesn’t me to say I have been shot down.

Once again attacking people and trying to put them down  Why do you believe you are superior to the others on the bunker sctatchinghead

Looks like war by punctuation, it’ll end in corrections, you’ll get lines Leggie.

Hate going out for a walk on a nice day in Hartlepool after leaving your unneeded coat at in the car. Then a mile or so walking and the " " evil " Hartlepool weather starts attacking you from all angles. At this moment in time you question your sanity and wonder why you left your coat behind. rakxe

Yep and the question was asked why pensioners retire to warmer climates, you should try it, you save a fortune on clothes, only summer attire required.

So don’t complain about the weather in the U.K., life is about choices, you choose to live in England, accept the weather for what it is or move to a different climate.

Read the title of the thread. I don't have to follow your footsteps and move to another country, been and done that. I personally love my home town but sometimes the weather can spoil things a little. And like I said read the title it's about
" things you don't like " not countries you don't like.

The Hartlepool weather is glorious to me, even the bad weather, four seasons in one day, nowt better than getting kitted up for a walk in wild weather with the dogs like two drowned rats……you can stick you sunshine up your orifice, who wants to sit like a lizard waiting to die in some tacky bar.

Snowy you have this misconception that people who live abroad sit in a tacky bar you must have been to some choice places or sit in the sun all day, the tourists might do, I don’t. I worked out doors for most of my life and enjoy living in a warm climate and it’s certainly a pleasure waiting to die, everyone is different, you forget that some times.

It’s not a misconception at all, sitting about in a warm climate sounds more like a warm day care centre, a sign of giving up on life….I can’t think of a more tedious excistence….while you were flicking the local insects of you knobbly knees and other extremities, I was happy in my boiler suit and googles using my angle grinder to cut up some steel sections outside on a temperate sunny day …most enjoyable.

I bought some bad weather gear and leggings and it’s brilliant…that warm you can only wear a T shirt underneath it even in January.
I just like experiencing all the seasons in our temperate Atlantic climate.

Again you haven’t a clue, what do you class as a modern country one where you in the England just under 3 million have to use food banks and there are 14000 homeless, you want to get out more, there is electricity, gas oh we have running water, the technology and the internet speeds are far superior to the U.K.

jamie1952 does make some good posts but might suffer like the rest of us as writing things can have a different outcome than saying the same things in a pub. there is also the situation of us mostly being annonymous as i doubt anyone knows or can put a face to him. me or anyone else on the bunker. pity this isn,t the case as we might give a bit more leeway to those we do not agree with or think they are winding the rest of us up.

Agree Accy. But wouldn't it be better to not look down your nose at people in the first place. In a pub in Hartlepool nobody would get away with that.

jamie1952 does make some good posts but might suffer like the rest of us as writing things can have a different outcome than saying the same things in a pub. there is also the situation of us mostly being annonymous as i doubt anyone knows or can put a face to him. me or anyone else on the bunker. pity this isn,t the case as we might give a bit more leeway to those we do not agree with or think they are winding the rest of us up.

Agree Accy. But wouldn't it be better to not look down your nose at people in the first place. In a pub in Hartlepool nobody would get away with that.

I am prepared to meet anyone face to face any place any time, I don’t hide behind a keyboard, the next time I am in Hartlepool I will let my fellow Bunkerites know and we can have a meet up.

How gracious of you your Majesty.
Sadly I now find myself aboard a Bovril Boat all summer and unable to take advantage of your more than generous offer.

Mini roundabouts…what is it with some people who arrive at one and their brain short circuits, turning into the Aldi Arms coming from Hart lane and a car cuts me up from the other way blowing his horn……nice car but what’s the point of it if a mini roundabout is beyond their comprehension.

No worries there leggie43, you wouldn’t be on the guest list, I don’t want you to think I would be looking down my nose at you, I am a commoner the same as everyone else although I am thinking to changing my user name to Lord Snooty to please you Leggie.I drank in pubs and clubs for many years still do with some great lads who had a sense of humour obviously you don’t although you are so easy to wind up.

Thailand, you ever been, I doubt it so don’t knock some where you have never been, it’s my holiday home, it’s a great place to live temporarily.,it’s not all ladyboys and thongs the heat does get to you sometimes though. Where I live has been westernised but also one of the most diverse places in the world from the food carts to international cuisine, rip clothing to top class designer stuff, fantastic beaches nearby on the islands a boat ride away.

Hartlepool is also a great place always has been, some great people, me I am a working class, I don’t look down at people. I was a raggy a*** contractor all my life,
Hartlepool isn’t the be end and end all, big wide world out there all within reach nowadays, life isn’t a dress rehearsal. I had a health scare 10 years ago fortunately hopefully the problem was solved so decided to make the most of the years I have left on the planet.

Possibly Thailand is another spain where people go for what you see on youtube videos about the place and not the whole country itself. They would not get the same number of views showing stuff far off the beaten track. Why is paris regareded as the place for lovers when people i know who have visited the place say much about it is a shit hole.

Might have been true about Paris before the 70’s but everyone says it’s ’not very nice’.

I will post the info on the Bunker, it’s not a freebie every one has to pay for their own drinks, I am not a millionaire or I might have considered buying Pools.

Snowy your behind the times, where do you get your info from, the Beano, do a bit of research before commentating about a country you know nothing about or even visited. Legal system, why would I be involved with the legal system Snowy, it’s only for people who fall foul of the law.

It also has a great medical service, I had my cataracts done here last year, their medical system is like the NHS used to be. I can turn up at a clinic or hospital and be seen without an appointment, their hospitals are modern clean and efficient some like modern day hotels.

When I have time I will forward links for the English language newspapers here, the Bangkok Post is decent but unfortunately I am busy packing my bag for me next adventure, now where did I put my nice new blue passport ?

like the rest of us as writing things can have a different outcome than saying the same things in a pub. there is also the situation of us mostly being annonymous as i doubt anyone knows or can put a face to him. me or anyone else on the bunker. pity this isn,t the case as we might give a bit more leeway to those we do not agree with or think they are winding the rest of us up.

No hard feelings on my part Jamie. Would you like me to be your official greeter sctatchinghead If you send me over a list of your guests I could send out the invitations, and save you a small fortune on postage sctatchinghead I can also negotiate a fee on your behalf to use the Borough Hall for the event if that helps mate sctatchinghead Do you have a number in mind of how many will attend sctatchinghead How many V.I.Ps do you want on the top table sctatchinghead Please also let me know a month in advance the number of 8 seated tables you will require sctatchinghead I can also arrange a private bar for your event if required sctatchinghead If you can think of anything else at all mate please don't hesitate to contact me directly. Kind regards your loyal servant Leggie. :character-burgerking:
I will post the info on the Bunker, it’s not a freebie every one has to pay for their own drinks, I am not a millionaire or I might have considered buying Pools.
Any chance you will reconsider and let me attend your home coming party Jamie sctatchinghead
