Waste of time and money….because the ones refused entry would simply go off into the sand dunes and wait for their turn on the next dinghy.

Unless they were immediately removed but they would appeal if that failed they would just disappear of the radar.

Jamie, let’s be honest, the French, unlike us, do not give a shit when it comes to these things. I admire and always will, their cold eye for the advantage, they aren’t soft as clarts like us dummy’s, they’re cynical and calculating and again you can’t help but admire them for it…do you imagine for one moment they’d let refugees into their country across the channel…. The ‘reception’ would not include hotels or rights for those that even made it.
We put them in quality hotels they leave them in the sand dunes, do French lawyers complain…Non!
The French have an island mentality, they hate their borders and probably fume at having neighbours with access… if any country in the world should be an island it’s France..
Funny thing is, if the French came down with their usual ferocity and cleared out the beach areas, the people would finally get some normality back in the Pas de Calais. But as long as they allow them to get in their dinghies more refugees will in turn be drawn to the Pas de Calais…so realistically it’s in French interests too.

Yes & the UK is a hell of a lot smaller than most European countries that take them.

Less than 10% of the land in the U.K. is built on and unless the house builders get their finger out it will remain that way of course they don’t want to over build as house prices would fall.

They don't want to over build, there's houses going up everywhere.
You only have to look at how much little Hartlepool has expanded in recent years.

could not agree more. its the same in most places and you get a shock when you go to somewhere you have not been to for a few years and see the difference which have not improved places for me. unless there is an exedus from this country things will only get worse unless we go back to the high rise flats again.

I see Starmer has some crazy, unworkable ideas on the migrant crisis and if he doesn't buck his ideas up we might end up with the men in blue again.

Quick tally on the figures;

Since 2 September there has only been 1 day when there has been NO activity, that being Wednesday this week.

On the other 12 days we had 3396 in 61 boats land (or picked up) in this Country. I notice the boats must be getting bigger or more crowded.

I don’t think Starmer has crazy ideas, he is talking about stopping the people smugglers which is the source of the problem, good luck on that, I can’t see the French cooperating very much.

How’s Starmer going to stop them, does he think nobody else has tried, it’s up to the French to do that because they’re based on France….and frankly they just want rid….but they’re so dumb they haven’t realised they’re actually perpetuating the problem by allowing this to continue as the stream is endless…they could send the CRS in and end this overnight, but they don’t.
Starmer is desperate to win an election , he’ll vaguely promise the Earth and like the other Party’s he’s political Boris boat.( look it up )

The smuggling gangs exist not just in France, they exist in the countries the refugees come from who organise the trips to Europe.

Agreed, but smuggling is like a bridge, if you knock part of it down the flow stops.
Trouble is the western parts of Europe are run by idealists who only take notice of and care about the approval of fellow idealists ….the people can rot.

Too start of with find out who is supplying the boats and the engines, it must be a very lucrative market, in the ideal world the French stop and search vans heading towards the coast in France

According to the Government website there have been NO REPORTS of any migrant crossings during these last 7 days.

I cannot believe that for one moment!

Are they all coming in the back of lorries or have they bought a cruise liner and landing in Southampton with no questions asked?

The only way to stop migrants is at the source before they have travelled into Europe.

There is a disused air base near Braintree (Essex) called Wethersfield where upwards of 1700 migrants are being housed.

Some of the ungrateful bastards are on hunger strike because they are complaining about the food and the accommodation and having no internet. They also want to be "living" near to a city.

If they are complaining about English food what did they expect, 5* Iranian, Syrian or whatever from the local kebab shop?

Let them starve to death and good riddance.

Let them starve to death? The Guardian readers and the BBC who basically run this country would have an unexpected bowel movement. Nope we are forced to look after them and after a year or two let them loose into the country. There is no going back. Even if their asylum claim is denied we NEVER deport anyone. The who situation heats my urine.

The demand to come to Europe is infinite in numbers, the trouble with these situations is failure by existing politicians can lead to people turning to more extreme politicians….Europe has a record for it.
But an answer must be found before it gets that far.

Have I got this right? There are hundreds of migrants waiting to be processed staying in hotels and costing the government millions of pounds per day. So let’s get them processed asp and move them out of the hotels. Wait a minute we will now have to find housing for them and no doubt they’ll end up rent free plus other benefits such as unemployment, child benefits etc which will cost more than hotel + £5 a day spending money.

If when it first started, the illegals were arrested for breaking the law and securely detained, surely the message might have got back.
Going from containers in the sand dunes in Calais to 5 Star hotels was hardly gonna be a turn off.

It was announced today 50 hotels will stop taking asylum seekers by the end of January, is this due to the application system success if so what has happened to the asylum seekers housed in those hotels, granted asylum, shipped back home or moved to alternative accommodation ?
Or could this be the reason, reports have suggested the hotels set to be closed will be in areas the Conservatives hope to target in the next general election, which is expected next year.

beware if you live somewhere there are empty cheap houses about. you might be getting new neighbours shortly. can see things getting worse before they get better if that ever happens again.

those organisations will be telling our food banks to forget the locals and donate the food to the dinghy divers. the laugh is some will be quick to comply. like it or not having a white face in this country is a detrement to anyone who is struggling.

Houses and flats it will be , where else can they go ? the camps earmarked never seem to be up to their standards or plans for them go tits up..It was questioned on one social media page down here why so many bikes were being recovered from one particular hotel full of migrants and within an hour or so anybody who had a problem with it was banned and called a racist..

if it was us going to their country we would know what the score would be. we would get the bare minimum of what is required with the answer of you know what to do if you do not like it. just why are we such a soft touch in this country is beyond me where any one from certain foreign lands are seen to be better to put their energy behind than there own or others from another country. they,ll never give a second thought for the whites murdered in zimbabwe or south africa or would make it easy for them leaving their land as refugees from persecution. if the other way was happening they,d go into meltdown.

Well over these past 14 days, according to official figures (do you believe them?) there has only been 2 days when migrants were detected;

16th 185 in 6 boats
23rd 385 in 7 boats

That still leaves over 15000 that have crossed and been detected during the past 3 months. Where are they going to be "housed"?

imagine looking across the whole of the country there will 5,000 empty houses unsold or boarded up that could be used fairly quickly. people will say that the only know of a handful like that but multiply that by every single town and city in the country then that will mean a lot of properties.
