Seaton player broke a leg after 5 minutes against Rovers. Paramedic arrived after 15 minutes but could not access Grayfields for a further 5 minutes as the gate was locked. She called for an ambulance but as the injury was not life threatening was told it would be sent when available. The ambulance arrived just before 12 o'clock. The lad was lying on a frozen pitch in a sub zero wind for over an hour with only a couple of coats for cover. I know this has been said many times but it is shocking that this is happening when we have a hospital only 300 yards away.

Our game was called off last night because no refs were available, 3rd time this season this has happened. Think once a few of the older refs finally pack in we are going to really struggle to attract enough younger lads to take it up and keep league going.

Shocking to see that lad laying in artic conditions waiting for an ambulance for so long.

The amount of Refs is not help by the amount of money they ask to go on the course ... About time some this money was invested in the grass roots instead of building themselves nice offices .. For FA substitute .. Greedy Gits....

As bad as that is we don't have a hospital 300 yards away we have a shell of what used to be a hospital, it doesn't have any doctors in it. The other half works there and ironically I commented as I drove past this morning how empty the staff carpark was.

It's a fucking disgrace for a Town of this size and it will cost lives.

Just been speaking to one of the Seaton lads and confirmed that Dobber has snapped his tib. Hopefully he'll get back to playing as soon as possible without any further complications.

Not just a town of 90,000 but a catchment area of 140,000 including Blackhall,Horden,Easington,Peterlee. Lives have already been lost. What has anyone done about it? What can are we going to do about it?. Expect thousands to join the next SAVE OUR HOSPITAL march through town and hundreds in the council chamber next time the closure is debated. One can hope

Think we are finally sorted good to go for Sunday! FA not budging on the fine like just allowing us to make 2 payments... Better than nothing I suppose

Another broken leg this morning in the Blackhall v Greenies game, again it took the ambulance over an hour to attend. The Lion game was also abandoned but unsure why that was, can't believe any games were allowed to start in the first place.

Why is it games are called off like they are?

Couldnt you have all gone back a couple of hours later and played at 12:30?

By that time ALL pitches were playable.

Its fucking sunday, its not like everyone has anything better to do.

You would think there were 50,000 fans you all had to consider.

You keep saying you about us like we have a choice as managers/players, we have absolutely no choice at all when it comes to putting games back.

And i know for a fact youth games are played on seaton and greyfields virtually straight after the morning games finish, so i imagine thats why.

Bollocks man. There are no more than 2-3 youth games played at Grayfields at anyone time ever. Usually 1.

Its not like there are a shortage of pitches either. They are all shit pitches granted, but there are plenty of them.

Most of the youth set ups play at Seaton or Brierton only.......with the odd team at Grayfields.

its still out of our hands, i'd be up for it if the refs said come back in 2 hours n we'd play, but if a few lads cant make it due to work/other plans then its hardly fair is it?

fair enough. I can only judge it on what I was like. I hated, and still do, games being off, and I would have gone anywhere to get a game, and if it meant sitting about for a few hours I would have.

Greatham called all their youth games off yesterday at Brierton at around 9:45, even though half the games were 1:30 kick offs.

Which fooking halfwits do that?

Since half our players are only allowed out by their mrs till half 12, and the other half are out on piss by half 12 we'd have no chance of playing any later.

Nothing has ruined the social side of sunday footy as much as spineless lads ruled by their lasses, you see them every week run into the pub, quickly down an orange juice n then rush home before her in doors is on the phone chewing at where the hell he is at.

Sundays are footy on the morning, pub on the afternoon, the mrs knows it, it takes something massive for me not to go to the pub for a few hours after a game.

Depends on the manager I guess. Some of them pander to their " so called " star players, sticking them straight in the team when they do make their guest appearances, and dropping the reliable lads that turn up week in and week out.

What then tends to happen is the " so called " star player lolls around doing the square root of fuck all, and the benched regular has to come on in his place and bail the manager out with a 25 yarder into the top corner.

When the managers stop signing/picking the feckless " so called " star players the problem might be eradicated.

F me has hell frozen over...i'm in agreement with Chip! I'm no world class footballer by any stretch but when you turn out for a team on a freezing cold morning in relentless driving rain to get changed and be named as one of two subs, you'd think you'd be nailed on for a sub appearance....well about 60 minutes into said game two lads turned up blethered and got on while i'm stood there like a muppet sctatchinghead puts you off getting out of bed again..

L&L that was.

If anyone is struggling for numbers PM me i'll dust off the boots. Got about as much match fitness as Stevie Howard like..

Anyone else play this morning only ours and Supporters games survived on Grays?

Never known so many grown men whinge about a bit of cold and rain, mostly the younger lads asking the ref to blow up early.

It was just a mud bath on the rec, happy to get it played n out the way to be fair one of the many cup games against higher league opposition is no tears shed for this one.

To be fair it was absolutely fookin Baltic, I couldn't feel my arms n hands n was pitted from head to toe in mud, terrible conditions with sleet n rain in your face.

Our game was on this morning, finished a close 18-0 I think it was. Didn't help that out of our 3 keepers we have registered are all injured. Our top goalscorer had to go in goal for a bit then swapped with our left back. The pitch was appalling, ball wasn't moving, lads slipping all over the place and one of our lads went off injured after 15 mins after slipping and turning his ankle. Had a word with the ref at half time and he blew at the 70th minute, partly because of the pitch and errr to stop it becoming an embarrassing score line

Was the pitch cutting up badly joe? The rec was just pure mud, unplayable really, you couldnt pass a ball or keep your footing.

Pitch was appalling, wasn't safe at all. Like I said there, one of our lads slipped and done his ankle in and had to come off.

any rain this week n you've got no chance, refs only tend to call off for puddles n frost.

The leagues are always cut up, it's Sunday league In hartlepool, what do people want?

As long as their is no puddles of frozen pitches then you may aswell play cos it's not gunna get any better.

Alvin as good as wants the game off now, he'll turn up because he had too but in his head it's off.
