The one scene in a film I like is the old black and white ‘Ice Cold in Alex’ At the final scene where after trekking across the North African desert, they arrive and the famous Carlsberg scene ensues with the Ice cold lager with the condensation running down the side of the glass….it could make you take up drinking.
Barry Norman reported back when it was made actually in Libya and that they got pissed filming it.

never been a lager drinker but that scene always made me want to try it on a hot day. anyone remember watching lawrence of arabia at the pictures where i,m sure they turned the heat up in those desert scenes to sell more cold drinks and ice cream at the break. never been one who took notice of any adverts but admit that i purchased a 1947 humber super snipe due to the car chase on the film the blue lamp after it was shown on the tele in the mid 70,s.

Watched 2 classics on Sunday...The Wickerman and Straw Dogs. Two easy watches for a Sunday evening.

On the Beach…set in Australia after a nuclear war..Gregory Peck and surprisingly Fred Astaire as a retired racing driver..awaiting the nuclear cloud descending into the Southern hemisphere…Google film, but it could never be a musical.

the mention of fred astair as a racing driver gives me thoughts of le mans when they ran across the track to their cars. a hollywood version would have him dancing across the tarmac in full song to end with him in a dead heat with gene kelly.
