Most of the old men you refer to aren't really Tories but because they are sufficiently interested in their country, they refuse to encourage it's demise by supporting Labour, a party which has allowed itself to be infiltrated by the ideology of the hard left. An ideology that has been rejected by most of the countries who readily adopted it previously.
Would you seriously have preferred a country run by Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott. Seriously would you????????

think its a case of us old men growing up and seeing whats called the bigger picture. could never imagine that once in my late teens and early 20,s i was so far left i actually thought of joining the communist party. i was not on my own in my crowd. then some want to lower the voting age even further/

Common sense and reality eventually smother idealism.

From what you read it looks like any further restrictions in England are more being dictated by internal Tory politics than protecting the health of the nation.
It going to be interesting to see what happens tomorrow!

Any change in restrictions have to be passed by parliament so the Tory rebels can't win without the support of Labour and that hasn't happened yet.
Labour must be sorely tempted to vote against any further restrictions and therefore against the Government but risk the same accusations of playing politics with the Nation's health.
A good conspiracy theorist would argue that the Tory rebels have got the opposition well and truly over the proverbial barrel.
The problem for Starmer is that he knows this but can do sod all to stop it.
The Tory rebellion could be classed as a masterstroke in controlling the opposition. They themselves aren't affecting the result but are tempting Starmer to take the bait.
It is the sort of subterfuge that Mandelson was famous for.
I am very surprised the the Media haven't picked up on this but they are a bit obsessed with counting the mince pie and cheese consumption from last Xmas.
It is really a very clever masterstroke.

I never got that, they allege somebody paid to decorate it for Boris. But, it ain’t Boris’s house, just a glorified council flat owned by the government he lives in till he eventually leaves. He can’t take the wallpaper with him, so he’s got the house decorated for the government for nowt.

Considering we had a full fat, no questions lockdown from March 2020 until August 2020 I'd say the Scientists and Doctors are ten nil up.

When all’s said and done, I prefer to take the doctor’s advice.
All this ‘Braveheart-esque’ freedom exhibitionist stance really is a bit pathetic, especially as it appears their principle is about the right to get pissed over Xmas and the New Year.

This was reported in one of the papers that use bigs word.

"People are being urged to register the results of home Covid tests after the announcement that follow-up PCRs will be suspended for asymptomatic people with a positive lateral flow test in England."

I just wonder how many people just wont be arsed?
I suppose though its a good statistical way of making the pandemic go away

Looking at the latest death toll and the fact that a huge percentage are unvaccinated, it is very saddening. I wish we could have persuaded more of these people to get jabbed.
They are paying the ultimate penalty for their beliefs. R I P.
What a tragic waste.

It's odd that the vaccinated in ICU are more than happy to take all the poisons on offer.

I still have trouble comprehending why people would turn a jab down and some of the reasons I‘ve been give are beyond logic.
Did the BCG jab scare that many people at school?

If i drove a motorbike, that failed its MOT, with no lights, poor quality wheels, and I didn't wear a helmet while speeding at night, and I caused a crash. Would you have any sympathy for me?

good job it was en ex girlfriend and not an ex wife who would be by your side in hospital hoping for your recovery to keep her in the manner she has become accustomed too.
