It is and the album is very good....'Nice Legs....' is very poor compared to the rest of the album....but that's only after 1 listen....listening to it again now though!!!!

I'm sure Mr.Dunn can fill us in with more details about them!!!!

And just found out about this band yesterday....'My Life Story'....after getting an email off TKASG....and after a brief listen to them ordered their 3 albums off Amazon for a bargain £7.35!!!!

Can't believe I hadn't heard of them until now!!!!

They are playing The Cluny Friday 6th November!!!!

Britpop's My Life Story return to tour the UK with a striped down, tight rocking 5-piece version of their original line-up. Cited by Steve Lamaq as his favourite band, they will perform their greatest hits from their classic albums 'Mornington Crescent' and The Golden Mile' amongst others.

In 1993, MLS were spotted by Giles Martin, (the son of Beatles legend George) who offered them free time at his fathers studio. The debut single Girl A, Girl B, Boy C was born, a tale of a bizarre love triangle with a big band soundtrack. All foxy horns and horny foxes, it was released by indie label Mother Tongue and possessed a sassy swing which sounded gloriously out of place in the year of grunge. NME and Melody Maker made it their Single of the Week.

Their debut album Mornington Crescent was released to critical acclaim on the same label and MLS toured extensively in the UK and France, headlining over Oasis and supporting both Blur and Pulp. In 1996, MLS signed to Parlophone and released their second album, The Golden Mile. All five singles from the album became top forty hits including 12 Reasons Why I Love Her, Sparkle and Strumpet.

The My Life Story orchestra were in high demand during the Britpop era, with notable appearances on the Morrissey track Interlude, and collaborations with Marc Almond and PJ Probyon the 1996 album Legend.

1999 saw the release of If You Cant Live Without Me Then Why Aren’t You Dead Yet the first ever internet single.

The third and final album Joined Up Talking was released in 2000, and the band called it a day shortly after their sixth top forty hit Its a Girl Thing.

They do have a similar singing style but Joan's lyrics win the day for me. The Weakness in Me is one of my favourite songs ever.
Tracy does have the best melody though, with Baby Can I Hold You.

I'm a massive Oasis fan but I have to agree about Noel's latest album. All his songs sound the same as his last album and also sound like Oasis' last few albums. He needs to freshen it up or knock it on the head.

Dis Side Ah Town by Roger Robinson. Bloke who does the vocals for King Midas Sound doing poetry about Brixton over music made by the barking mad Jahtari label in Norway. Superb.

A lad at work told me about a band called North Mississippi Allstars, currently having a listen to them on Youtube and they sound pretty decent. They're quite a bluesy rock band, a little bit like The Black Keys

Love the album, like a lot of lofi indie rock bands but with loads of poppy hooks buried away in there. They're playing a very small place in Toulouse next week and i'm hoping to get there if work allows.

Yep, been recommending them for a while. Slightly shambolic but in a good way. A little bit of Detroit Cobras in there too. The album was one of the most anticipated of last year given how good the early demos and singles were (back when they were still called Deers). It didn't let me down.

Did you get to the Brudenell gig! I wasn't able to make it.

Recue Rooms in Nottingham, which was jammed. I think they'll be selling Rock City out next time they're over this way.
