This partygate is getting ridiculous and whereas the politicians and the media are trying to brainwash us into thinking the vast majority of joe public are actually interested, the fact of the matter is that most people are fed up to the back teeth with it.
The SNP leader has been chucked out of Parliament. The Labour leader can't talk about anything else and it looks to me that his deputy is angling to stab him in the back.
As usual the Lib Dems have gone missing to concentrate on their next by election.
How many people in this country can put their hand on their heart and categorically state that they obeyed every restriction, at every step over the last two years.
I tried my best as did most of us but there were "incidents" where I was less than perfect.
Surely we have more important things to attend to other than this farce.

BJ in Ukraine, but if as most seem to think this is all about Ukraine wanting to join NATO. The Ruskies must be shitting themselves about this as virtually all there buffer states have gone west. Cuba missile crisis strings to mind.
Hope this all gets sorted with all parties coming to a massive piss up at number 10 and the last nation standing gets to decide what happens going forward. Uk is prime permission to win this one after recent practice runs.

The farcical efforts of this mornings BBC 2 news-team made for cringeworthy viewing today, that Derbyshire woman breaking off an interview every couple of minutes to shout at MPs entering No.10 like a playground bully, then promptly apologise to whoever they were in conversation with in the studio or on-line was so unprofessional, tacky and altogether an insult to the viewers intelligence. I promptly turned it over after 10 minutes, embarrassing. Do these people think that's really acceptable/impressive? stpid

I really believe the media think they should be running the country.
Interesting this as I got Ian Kershaw’s 900+ page epic biography of Hitler for Xmas  ...!
Reading it you wonder how these organised but very mundane people backed by Brownshirt thugs managed to take over a country ..... quite simple really, with the propaganda genius Goebbels controlling the ‘media’ as it was, radio, theatre, films and the press, the ‘people’ had their views shaped.
Control the media, you’ve won.

Touché....but it’s who runs the media, not the nodding dogs who front it.
God, they even dug David Mellor up this morning from the cold ground to put the boot in.

the media might not run the country but they are certainly in charge of the thought police. does make you wonder how long its actually been going on. you get the impression it all started with the virus. think brexit kicked it all off and it backfired on them. this time arounf there is no different views on anything being spouted. its their way or silence. to get other points of view you have to look elsewhere. its not just covid, its every issue from dinghy divers, blm and its aims and the constant wish to push minority figures on the box that are in a higher percentage that actually exist in the country. funny how chinese british residents and especially the disabled are not included in this.

Some people are talking about the Ukraine crisis as though it’s just happened, the Russians invaded Crimea and the Donbas industrial region of Ukraine allegedly at the ‘request’ of the Russian residents of the area...... sounds like the Sudetenland all over again.

The US media got Biden elected by relentlessly demonising Trump, a bit like what is happening here with Johnson. I think there is a lesson to be learnt there.
When Trump was president he was in the news over here on a daily basis, whereas we hardly hear of Biden.

Even before the US election I couldn’t visualise people voting for him, he was rambling then, but apparently they did. Surely they must have had a better candidate?

Derwent - When Trump was president he was in the news over here on a daily basis, whereas we hardly hear of Biden

Perhaps because someone working at their desk, doing stuff away from Instagram isn't newsworthy?

Perhaps having an oaf doing stupid photo - opportunity visits rather than getting on with proper work is what the masses want to see?

But, yes, from the right wing propaganda that we get, Biden is as dangerous as Trump, Johnson and Farage. Bring back Teresa May.

Where is Poolie27 when we need him?

Biden isn’t dangerous, he’s just not there. Why did the Democrats chose him, there must be better candidates than him.

How do you know that he's not there? I'd prefer someone working at his desk to someone who is always on the tv, visiting hospitals, visiting schools, wearing high viz, driving JCBs, etc

Mr Left Foot, you are correct I've been missing in action unlike our more extreme friends. What we need are steady characters in power in the West but for some reason even here people are attracted to extreme views. They do not see anyone else's viewpoints as being valid whether on the Left or the Right and the trends are frightening. We all have to compromise in life but I think some of the people on this forum are lost causes

So, anyone who doesn’t share your views are ‘extreme’?

What we need are steady characters in power in the West but for some reason even here people are attracted to extreme views.
Extreme views again, define ‘extreme views’.

They do not see anyone else's viewpoints as being valid whether on the Left or the Right and the trends are frightening.
BSo, you don’t like people with middle of the road opinions, only those at the extremes of left or right, you sound extreme to me.

We all have to compromise in life but I think some of the people on this forum are lost causes
That’s by your standards, so are your standards the one’s we should follow? We need to know.

I’m not disagreeing with you at all just letting the ideas flow. It’s good to challenge ideas that have been around for years even in a manner that to some is disrespectful.
But true, you can have a better exchange face to face than on a message board.

No, it’s a long tail. but Boris would get the same reception, well his bollocks would, but he’s a black fell terrier, it’s what they do.
Very territorial.
To be fair, kier would have to quick off the mark too.
Unless of course they had treats.
