There's a small group of fundamentalists who believe if Pools go into admin or liquidation, then that's it, the club has gone for ever and any new variation totally unacceptable and such talk stifled.
Therefore they try to keep the club limping along, because to them, there is no Pools, only the original. Those accepting the situation we're in and making future provision are seen by them as aiding the clubs demise.
It's all about taking a realistic view of where we're going, but survival in any form has to be more acceptable than jumping on the club's funeral pyre in despair.

This constant 'us and them' is the problem. I only read this board but it's clear to me that both sides are to blame regardless of who is provoking who.

Draw a line under it and move on FFS

I get that it does get petty at times, but this particular example is not just a difference in beliefs, it is the frustration of certain fans initially stating that the fundraising had ended and they were allowing the trust to focus on theirs (as the trust had stepped back to not compromise it) and then start it up again weeks later. It will just make people more confused and reduce the potential of funds either way.

Now I have seen that they are saying it is to allow uncollected money to be collected as part of the original fund. Now if they said at the start “we have created a go fund page to allow anyone with outstanding monies to pay in, so we will just keep this open for a few weeks to allow this” then fair enough.

But that’s not what was said. It has been sold as fundraising to raise 100k to keep the club going until the end of the season.

Exactly. The information coming from the Friends Group has been inconsistent and unhelpful. One minute it's a fresh drive to raise £100k to "save the club", the next it's merely a device to sweep up outstanding monies raised (and presumably certain individuals had collected 20 quid each and were definitely not starting a fresh fund drive, no way).

By contrast the Trust board have behaved impeccably throughout. Whatever misgivings they might have had about the JustGiving page, they stepped back to give it room to breathe. They have also reduced their message board activity, and made regular, sensible, announcements via their own website. Communication is still not perfect but they are getting there.

All of this has nothing to do with ego-fuelled message board squabbling, which is just embarrassing.

Spot on.

Where money is involved you have to be careful n consistent in your message

I noticed mr blue say the Council donation was from monies outstanding due to wear blue to school day in January

Yet pools themselves went to schools collecting that money and schools donated themselves to the page individually (anyone can check this)

So which is it?

I’ve tried to speak to mr blue reasonably about this in the past regarding his charity nights and got shot down and then eventually blocked.

One day more important people than me and others on here might ask questions

Obviously this will get me quoted on Facebook and threats of legal action and visits to my work n house but what’s new.

I’m not actually accusing people of anything but just asking questions

I'm not going again until you accuse someone of something.
