It had also knocked all my player and team instructions off and I hadn't realized. Wondered why we started faultering but managed to scrape 3rd in first season. Nsiala, Black and Walker in team of the year. Fewster bagged 22 for me but they won't let me loan him again and want £200k when my transfer budget is £0.00.

Can't find a decent striker for love nor money, got 20k left in wage budget so plenty of scope but looks like going into first game with no strikers as I binned them all :(

Why'd you bin amond?

He only scored 3/4 in 20 odd games. Scouts said he was shit and Nuneaton offered me 20k so got him off the wage bill.

Maybe a defensive forward doesnt suit my formation.

He scored quite a few for me in the first season but then Fewster was scoring every game so I couldn't play Amond, I gave him a new contract though for back up. Has chipped in with a few goals already in league one.

I've managed to get Fewster on loan again and he has scored 9 in 13 already.

Il keep trying. They put him on transfer list and loan option is greyed out.

Managed to get a Man City right winger back on loan again for another full season. Name begins with an 'A'. Quality player. Thomas has performed much better than Watt too.

Looking like a il play with a 'false 9' to start my league 1 campaign. Although Swansea are sniffing around me so may jump ship yet.

Sam Collins wanted a new contract on £2k a week

I took the Swansea job after I got Pools to the Champ. Poisoned chalice (they had just been relegated so thought it would be an easy bounce back job)

Back to back promotions so about to start in Championship. However offered the Stoke job in Prem and they classed as "rich" so think il go as dont fancy my chances of keeping this lot in the Champ. Michael Cain is a quality box to box midfielder btw. Him, Black and Walker ripped up League 1. Nsiala and Fewster (Fewster went on a Jon Daly run of scoring 10 in 3 games) in team of the year again.

Found it a lot easier once I stopped playing with a CDM.

Rejected the boro Job. Never like changing jobs. Always seems to fuck the game up.

To quote my mate whose the Guinness book of world records holder for the longest game of footy manager ever... if I get a job offer I turn them down, if I wanted to be that club I'd start with them

Currently 1st in League one, Fewster scored 16 in 20 so far, Thomas will 11 assists. These are the transfers I've made and starting 11. Only just signed Jutkiewicz and not played him yet.

fewster should be an attacking forward and switch Walker and Black.

I tried Fewster as attacking forward but he didn't score that many, he's scored pretty much all of these goals as DF.

Thomas and Sanchez did me in League 1 like. Got me to finish 3rd. As I said earlier a Michael Cain will probably pop up on a free in that season Joe. Well worth it, wants a 2m release clause but no one came in for him as I strolled to the Championship.

I took the Stoke job and a day later got offered the Newcastle job so took that so spent less than a day at Stoke.

Saved game as a different file before I took Stoke job so will play at Pools in Champ aswell.

I've done that before, I always end up going back to the Pools job. Need a new keeper though as Carson is slacking and now only rated 2 1/2 stars by my coaches.

I always end up getting 3rd/4th season syndrome and just quitting.

Currently in the middle of a save with Inter Milan, won Serie A in my first and second season and also the Coppa Italia in my 2nd. Enjoying it, trying to win the CL next

I found it really hard to recruit for the Championship, the few good players who would come always chose Bradford or someone in League 1 over me. I dont think my squad will be anywhere near good enough to challenge to be honest.

I signed a 23 year old keeper to replace Carson who my scouts said i should do everything to sign from Port Vale I think, got him in and then they tell me he aint good enough and potential is only 3 stars too.

not nice people.

Ivan Toney from Newcastle you can get on a free 3 seasons in. He's worth £7 mill for me

Mason Bennett from Derby

Toni gomes Liverpool

Try n sign tom barkizan and Kieron Morris from Walsall. Both champ standard

Ali nabdi from Peterborough on a free. First ever Pakistani international to play for pools

I sold Toney as Newcastle boss for £200k!!

That Ali Nabdi keeps appearing as a "sign this player at all costs" or whatever it is but he doesnt even get his game for Peterbrough so always puts me off!

I'm just starting off, last one I played was FM 2005 so bit out the loop. Looking for a decent formation for home and away - would everyone recommend the 4-1-2-3 like Joe's above? I don't like switching formations too much as it seems to knacker the players up as they are not used to it. Also, has anyone tried to get in someone on a work permit? Everyone who will come hasn't had enough international caps and the permit gets rejected, is it worth just sticking to EU players?

Iv never bothered with players from outside the EU tbh.

I got to Championship in 2 seasons playing Joes formation but I always made sure their green circles were full (ie playing in correct role)

Crosses seem best way to score so i always like to play with the setting "run with the ball" ticked and low crosses to Fewster. He started off a bit crap for me but then suddenly banged in 20-25 so stick with him.

Make sure you beat Luton to Harley Black and Nemane on loan from Man City is a good Right winger. I got him on loan for 3 seasons in a row. Ship Paynter and Woods and a few others out fairly quick to get some money for wages etc.

Think only players I kept in league 1 were Carson, Carroll, Nsiala, Fewster, Thomas, Featherstone, Magnay and Walker. Binned off the rest. Possibly kept Bates to get out of League 2 like.

Cheers. Think I'll start afresh as Bates has knackered his cruciate and out for the rest of the season

I tend to have 3 formations on the go

One like joes for away games. Counter attack setting

4-2-3-1 with a number 10 on control settings for home games

3-1-4-2 cos I'm a trendy European inspired coach n everyone's doing it.

Tend to focus like tree on green circles n player instructions rather than over complicated team instructions

I try n sign players with high determination as they will strive to play at the highest level n will help you get there

Aye, its much better. First one iv played for more than a day or two since about 08.

Do everything you can do get Black by the way, Luton generally beat you to him. Cant remember if i offered him key player or First Team but just make sure you give him what he wants!

Agree about Black, get him signed and put him on free kicks as he scores them for fun.

Summer transfer window of my 3rd season with Pools I managed to sell Toto for £300k to some Turkish team with a seasons loan back clause. He only signed a 1 year deal with them, never got his contract renewed by them & signed him back for free. Got £300k for him & he actually never really left the club lol!

Currently at the start of my 4th season & in League 1. First season just avoided relegation from League 2, second season went up through the playoffs, third season was 18th in League 1. Fewster was a goal machine for me in first 2 seasons, got him back on loan then a free transfer at end of season 2. Never really reached the same standards for me in League 1 so sold him at the end of season 3 for £750k. Will put up my current Pools squad later when I am in from work.

I've still only played 2 friendlies and been in charge for a week or 2!!! Have sold Walker to Arsenal for a club record £10 Million, and Paynter and a few others (old fashioned cheat). Now getting a few youngsters in on loan to bolster the squad along with hopefully a few free transfers and maybe spend some of my £30 million on a good player or 2. Playing 4 4 2 by the way!

Couldn't be arsed with Newcastle so went back to my Pools game in Championship. Won 3 of first 4 games somehow. Decided to go gung ho and switched my cdm for a 2nd St. (Fewster along side either Lozer or Lyle Stewart)

Hasn't tried any requests yet but just asked him to increase wage budget, gave me an extra £10k per week.

About 2020. I've just entered 2022 n the club will own the ground in 4 months. Maybe having to wait due to that pesky ACV

Just had back to back promotions! Promoted to the championship after beating Portsmouth 1-0 in the playoff final, been given a budget of £1.7m to spend so just looking out for players now. Any recommendations would be a great help.

Now getting a few youngsters in on loan to bolster the squad along with hopefully a few free transfers and maybe spend some of my £30 million on a good player or 2. Playing 4 4 2 by the way!

Disappointed in you Bishop! It's much better when you don't cheat but if you really wanted to cheat you could've just used the in game editor and signed anyone you wanted for nowt.

I've been quite lucky had some big away FA cup fixtures, won the JPT in my first season and the play off final will have give me a decent bit of money. I hardly bought anyone as well, all frees on low wages.

Hmm im going to have to bug Coxall for some funds. Used the £150k to increase my wage budget and still only got £77k per week. Simply not enough for the Championship.
