Dont be fooking daft.

No englishman should ever want an aussie to get a hundred ever.

Are you a girl?

Anyway the daft aussie get has thrown it away on 98.

Did he get a standing ovation from the home crowd?

the looks on the faces of the aussie balcony was worth watching.

Even if we have been an embarrassment.

So now we know batting is easy what excuses do we have left?

Why anyone would want him to score a century and increase an already big lead in a low scoring match is beyond me.

A fantastic knock with some great shots but I was very pleased when we got him out.

Exactly blondie.

Saying they wanted him to get a hundred is the same as saying they want someone to scaore against pools.

Nuts.

I wasnt aware seeing him go from 98 - 100 would have such a detrimental effect on our chances.

What do you think it would do for his, and our, confidence for the rest of series eh?

He failed to get there, and may never get another chance.

You are a girl arent you?

I think the confidence gained from that partnership and his 98 would be just as great as him getting the extra 2 runs to be honest.

Yes im a girl.

You dont get tiresome at all.

Well ultimately it would have meant he wasn't out, and could have gone on to score another 50 more.

I was just pleased the fcker was gone and couldn't give two hoots he missed out on his ton.

I wanted him to score 100.

At least England have made sure this Ashes series won't be a boring whitewash by pissing away a cracking chance to finish this test before Sunday was over.

I'd rather see someone do really well in their chosen sport than get caught up in partisan national team nonsense.

It's been a fascinating game and we're still in with a great chance of winning.

As frustrating as the last few hours have been I'll judge us once the Test is finished and not just on a freakish couple of hours.

I wonder if Graeme Swan should have dropped the catch on purpose. Bad form not to let the young lad have 100.

After all its only a game.

True, and spot on again.

Though I would describe it as pathetic bowling display rather than freakish.

That lad batted well. He wasnt lucky.

Correct. On watching clips and reading the bbc, even the English pundits wanted him to get the 100 aswell as the home crowd. Too right too.

well apart from when he was out but the third umpire felt sorry for him.

What is the point of referals by the way When even when you are proved to be out? But still stay in.

Bollocks by the way. Another stupid dismissal.

There was a slight element of doubt about Trotts dismissal. He was given out.

There was element of doubt about Agars stumping. He was given not out.

Even using technology gives no consistency.

Just so I'm not mistaken England were favourites weren't they?

The Aussies were supposed to be a walkover?

Those two blokes who are out for 4 & 5 are just lads pulled from the crowd and not blokes who open batting for a living?

seems like too many people have blown smoke up our players arses. A classic case of believing the hype.

Their no 11 made it look easy scoring a run a ball against our vastly superior bowlers.

We are facing an exocet missle. It seems.

It's a low scoring game so a 100 partnership will go a long way. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

I don't expect us to win now but there's still a long way to go

I see the same south African Umpire that gave Agar N/O on 6 gave Trott out and hotspot wasn't working.. fair

Quote:
So we didn't have side-on Hot Spot for Trott because it was prepared to show the catch behind for the Root dismissal and you can't play and record Hot Spot at the same time...

Its appalling.

Agar was clearly out. You could not tell whether Trott hit it or not.

So which one is given out?

Even Nassar Hussain is saying it.

I didn't expect come in from work to read a massive Bunker over reaction to the days play.

Oh hang on I did.

Why when can nobody actually just play well against England in any sport it's always England being shite. The kid's performance was amazing give him some credit.

Lot's of cricket still to be played in this match.

The funniest one is this double decker crank who told us so  If you could predict that happening you should be a rich man. Ha ha I told you so stpid

It's gone now so we'll just have to move on.

It's been one of the most compelling Tests ever and we're not even half way through.

Always great to see KP at the crease. It wouldn't surprise me if he got 200 or was out to a daft shot in 5 minutes time.

PJ just for once I am going to disagree with you. It WAS pathetic. I have sat and watched it.

You make a list of all the things you wouldnt want bowlers to do against a no 11. Go on.

And I bet Finn, especially, and the others, and Cook as captain, will tick off the lot.

Have a listen to what Botham and Holding were saying.

It was ridiculous. Especially Finn.

I wouldn't have picked Finn he's bowled shit all summer.

Finn was over bowled because they were wrapping Broad in cotton wool which was a mistake.

The kid still played amazingly though, plus we got him out for 6 which would have been 131 all out. No way will ever bat 11 again either.

He did play well. Infact he played amazingly well.

But we made it oh so easy for him.

He scored a run a ball and wasnt playing daft shots.

Agree there. Really bizarre.

And without tempting fate, we are only 17 behind now.

Trott DID hit the ball, you could see clearly from the ultra slow motion thingy that he had. Two schoolboy errors from the third umpire, shockers! Some people might call it cheating.......

He walked, apparantly, because he wasnt sure, so Cook assumed he hit it. So decilned the appeal.

No hot spot, no snicko, so no evidence.

If Agar was given not out, there is no way Trott and Root should have been given out.

Its just inconsistent rulings.

Probably why India dont like it.

On saying that, Root was LBW a bit earlier and was given not out.

Hot spot clearly isn't working properly because Root definately hit his, and on the Trott dismissal nothing showed up when he clearly hit it.

You can only really blame Erasmus for the stumping.

Believe me he hit it, you are rarely not sure about knicking one. The bat so well away from his body it was a very thin edge but he knew.

Without hotspot the third umpire would have struggled to overturn it.

Apparently the ECB are making some kind of appeal now as they feel the third umpire shouldn't be able to over rule the umpire if all the technology isn't available.

I don't really see what can be gained other than providing clarification for the future.

The earlier decision was abysmal and hopefully we'll go on to win as otherwise that decision could mean this test is remembered for the wrong reasons

If the third umpire was aware that hotspot wasn't working and he overturned the decision then he wants sacking.

If he wasn't it's not really his fault.
