Nah, he didn't spoil the argument, notice I didn't say good argument, everyone ignored the comment, apart from OO who doesn't count anyway.

If all the gay people are going to Hell (Bible, numerous references) I'd like to see everyone in Heaven get their hair done.

Heaven's only for us Catholics.

I liked Dave Allen's take on it ... Heaven's open for every religion, and they all mix together. However there's a walled-off area for the Catholics so they believe they're the only people in there.

And Hell's a place where people stand up to their chins in liquidised manure, and all day long there are cries of "don't make waves". To make it worse, Satan goes skiing on Sundays.

Rather ironic he hung himself in a wardrobe. I wouldn't have thought a coat hanger would've been that effective.

Was it like, it didn't stretch his neck much but he died of over-expanded shoulders.

Sad that an openly gay man should die in the closet like that.

On the whole freedom of speech bit what I don't understand is how it is only meant to work one way. Ripper seemed, to me, to be obviously, viciously homophobic in his post about McQueen. I said that and so did a few other posters. I didn't argue that he should be banned, just that he should shut up with his bigotted shyte. Ripper's mates then posted arguing that he should have a right to spout shyte. Fine by me but people who think his shyte is shyte have a right to say so too. Nobody could seriously expect to come out with that sort of crap and be greeted with an endless stream of smilies.

If we all asked whether we'd say the stuff we post to the other board members in real life before posting it we wouldn't go far wrong.

I'm not Catholic but I like beer and talking shite.

And for some reason I'm being painted as homophobic due to my intense dislike of the way that the media try and promote homosexuality and make a point of referencing the sexuality of every gay celebrity be they dead or alive.

I don't think that homosexuality is normal, I accept that other people may disagree with that view, but I also accept that what people want to get up to behind their own front door is their business. I just don't want to know about it or want the media telling me all about it. Obviously some folk on here what to know all of the ins and outs so that they can proclaim to the world how comfortable they are with it in order to bull up their own self esteem.

Like alan carr's stand up, especially the part were he is on about his dad who managed Northamptonn footy club making him and his brother train.

"He used to take us to the part and make us do shuttles beteween trees, running backwards and forwards, he would shout "touch the tree you puff, quicker you puff", well if you hear something often enough!"

Alan Carr is funny because he can take the piss out of himself.

Stark contrast to Graham Norton who is as funny as piles and can't tell a joke without some sexual reference to bum fun.

Maybe its because your original post said
Quote:
some faggy bastad
queers promoting the existence and supposed normality of other queers
the puffy Irish singer who'd overdone the tablets
some pillow biter who's supposedly a genius for designing frocks
the dead bummer

Quote:

Quote:

The terms used in my second quote suggest that you dont really accept it,they are vicious and hateful.

You could easily have made your point about the media without that & people may have got into a conversation about the media, instead your post said more to people about your hatred of gays than about the media.

I've said elsewhere that the terms used in my original post may not have been suitable for getting across the point I was trying to make and people have interpreted that in different ways. I don't hate gay people but that doesn't mean that I have to think that being gay is normal.

As for being "vicious" I think that's extreme. It implies that I would condone or partake in some gay-bashing violence or look to kick off with any gay person that I encountered. Nothing could be further from the truth and any of my mates who know me properly would know that.

At the risk of opening up a whole new debate and giving people more ammunition to make further assumptions the only time that I would ever get annoyed with gay people would be if they were kissing and cuddling and stuff in front of my child as I don't think that's right, but like I've also said elsewhere what they do in their own house is up to them.

Aye, probably, off half of them I would guess.

I'm under no delusion that just cos somebody is gay it means they're soft, and I don't like fighting at the best of times unless it's a last resort.

In fact, if the stats quoted on here are actually correct in that 10% of the population is gay then seeing as though I've been knacked by more than 10 people in the last 30-odd years then there's every chance that I've already had my head kicked in by a gay fella.
