We've also had Bilcliffe, McMordie, Downing and then there is Liddle. There are probably a few more.
Boro, over the years, have provided more than Sunderland and Newcastle put together. Not all have been successful but all wouldn't be successful wherever we got them from.
Lee has already said he is not just looking at Boro.
We will know for sure in six weeks or so what we have at our disposal for the rest of the season.
I suggest we wait and see.
We could be pleasantly surprised.

Pools are due a marquee signing of such (talking at our level here). The money the club has amassed over the last couple of months, should Raj be truthful in his statements about the Jan transfer window point towards this happening. I think we may just be happier than usual with the incomings this transfer window.

The statement about Januarys excellent Budget was also backed up by Bevvington and that was BEFORE the victorys v Sheff Weds n Lincoln.
Its impossible to be as bad as the last window for various reasons which are now history.
Like i said last week to sustain these good crowds then some decent new signing required. Hopefully permanent 18 month contact ones as well as the cream of these under 23s.
UTP.

My mistake for some reason i was always under the impression he was released from them or we signed him after a Loan. Nevermind wish we still had him, cracking player. At Ross County now i believe.

pools may have the ability to splash the cash in january but signings that cost some money also require a big wage. would the club be prepared to do this, can see a few u23 lads coming in and as long we sign good ones there is nothing wrong with this. its just over the years these lads have been a real mixed bag with some i,m sure far worse than pools own kids may have been. just hope lee knows a few players that are round pegs in square holes with their present side that would fit in at pools. certainly going to be an interesting few weeks ahead.

We need to get Micawber in to sort out the finances...he could count perfectly but let his head rule his heart.

He played a major part.
But the top end of the pitch was class.

Agreed, though Malcolm Poskett runs him close and we got a few bob when we sold him. Poskett and Newton was a class front line

Served my apprenticeship with Malcolm Poskett, a very quiet unassuming person.

One of my favourites from Boro was Ken Thompson a centre half to me he was one the best centre halves. He was at the end of his career in fact ended up in jail for match fixing.

I only knew him as a fan. He was a razor sharp striker. Severely pee'd off when we sold him. I think it was to Brighton.

He was just a nice lad, I can say nothing more complimentary than that or would need to.

One of the better players we got from Middlesbrough was Phil Gilchrist. We sold him to Oxford United for £100k I think and they went on to get over half a million for him from Leicester.

We also got Mickey Barron from Middlesbrough around the same time.

I can't believe we're this far through a transfer window discussion and Luke's not even been mentioned this year! Poor lad, he'll be having a worry.

Id have Allessandra back from Carlisle. He is a good player at this level tbh. Doesnt score as much as he should but hes a presence and holds the ball up. Changed the game for then slightly the other night when he came on and when sat watching that shit yesterday i thought of him and having him in our team yesterday we probs would have won. Just thought id mention is seen as we are talking about past players
