I think this is the best addition to the series. Really enjoying it.

I always start at Conference North level so never managed Pools *from the beginning* (although might be able to in a couple of seasons), but this time I started unemployed and got the gig at Elgin in Scots L2.

Saved them from relegation season 1, then two consecutive league championship wins and we're mixing it with the big boys (well erm Falkirk and St.Johnstone) in the Scots Championship now. Only part time side in the division and a definite step up in quality of players but I think we'll compete and confound our 500-1 odds.

I make my own tactics and last season went with a 532, conceding 0.5 goals per game through the season but only scored scored 42 from 36. Lots of 1-0s. In fact, struggling to get much free flowing football and make about 8 chances a game which isn't enough. Experimenting with an advanced playmaker behind a poacher and a deep flying forward and seems to be more exciting to watch in the friendlies but we're quite easily countered with pace in behind. Getting there though, probably need to change around a couple of the midfield duties. Still if anyone needs a very defensively solid tactic, in fact I've got several, then I'll post up the duties/positions on here.

Have you not downloaded the extra leagues? I started at West Auckland on my journeyman save (no badges, SL experience) and then went to Lincoln Red Imps because they gave me a small fortune to spend. Currently trying to get them to the Champions League group stages.

I'm enjoying this game so far, I quite like the social media feed and adding promises as incentives to sign players.

The best bit of the social media feed is when you trounce a team 6-0 and one of your players bangs in four but you still get some tit saying "People are overreacting. I didn't think it was that good." 10/10 for realism.

Depends on the players you have at your disposal more than anything.

Basics, just make sure everyone's in their correct position/role. Try playing with a defensive shield (anchor man or a cm set to dlp at a push. Think Simon Walton but preferably without the kite) and try not to have too many specific instructions. Lower league players are a touch thick so you'll just confuse them.

If you're having trouble scoring make sure your creative players have options or you'll just be cracking them off from range.

Keep an eye on what's happening and adapt to the flow of the match.

If your struggling keep it basic

4/4/2 and as man above says do that with amond n alassandra. Focus on player instructions and don't over complicate and contradict your players with over complicated team instructions that conflict with the player instruction.

Or just send me your email address and I'll send you a few formations

I've just nearly finished my first day as Pools Manager and I'm knackered! Much more intricate than 2008! The nice Mr Coxhall has given me £26k for transfers. Any decent free transfers going?

Y'know, if you need something to kill a game off Basset's Christmas Pudding is an absolute beauty. Not joking, held Man City to a 1-1 draw with it when I was in League 2.

How can you all be signing players who want £1.5k a week in your first season? Most I can offer even after board adjustments is £650 per week and no one will buy any of my players

I only signed 3 players.

Harley Black - £650 a week
Mark Bradley - £1.3k a week
Will Randall - On Loan

I was allowed up to £1.5k a week. You change the player status to Key player? That affects how much wage you can offer.

It's realistic like... Toto has given away 5 penalties this season with 2 being in the same game.

Came third first season - Amond, and signing Montell Moore both had decent runs but Bradley Fewster scored the important ones towards the end.

4-2-3-1; Trev, Carroll, Harrison, Christian Scales, Donnelly, Harley Black, Walker, Thomas, Alessandra, Aaron Nemane on loan, Fewster.

Easy.

Same, finished 3rd after leading for a good chunk of the season. Signed Fewster permanently for 80k plus addons after he bagged 21 goals.

I was leading from day 1 but a few bad results and now I'm third heading into February. In the final of the JPT, Fewster banging them in and scored 25 so far with a lot of games to go.

Hmm went from winning 7 in a row and sitting 3rd after 30 games to being 5-0 down at home to Accrington after 35 minutes.

Main reason being iv got such a small squad, they are all shagged out especially as I got to 3rd round of FA cup and still in the Autoglass Cup thing.

Seem to have a game every Tuesday so they cant get any fitness back. Think im going to have to 'forfeit' my next game away at Wycombe and just play a team full of youngsters. :(

I've just played my first friendly, beating the U23's 2-0. Problem is the screen was orange with just advertising boards and the occasional players name cropping up. I think I need a better Laptop for this game!!!!!

It was also a bit tight, my Dad tried on it and liked the fit. Ergo I bought a new and wet dog smell free jacket. It was my Dads Birthday present.

It probably would fit fine if you stopped spending £80 a week on takeaways.

When i started my game i set the assitant to take care of training etc.

Im getting about 12 players a week whinging about it, when i go into training there doesnt seem to be much I can change? I can see individually that some are on high intesity training etc but no option to change it?

Bit stuck with how to make them happy again?

ermm It was Fleming till Hignett poached him to join him at Oldham, its now some guy from Chelmsford. Decent ratings etc

Do I take control of training myself to correct it? Never bothered with the training before but sick of them whinging now.

When i started my game i set the assitant to take care of training etc.

Im getting about 12 players a week whinging about it, when i go into training there doesnt seem to be much I can change? I can see individually that some are on high intesity training etc but no option to change it?

Bit stuck with how to make them happy again?

Go to staff > responsibilities > un-tick assistant runs general training ...... all yours.

Ok cheers, is it straight forward to do it yourself??

Erm individually is okay, I know team can be a pain. I always set my assistant to look after it all as well.

Have a quick google, plenty of advice and training schedules. I'm currently in league one and for the first time I've let me assistant run training as he had decent stats (Not Fleming, can't remember my new assistants name) and he is doing very well. Nobody is moaning and I'm unbeaten in 7 games.

Looks like when I loaded my demo save into the full game it messed up half my settings, training had been assigned to me so quickly told assistant to do it again and all sorted.

It had also knocked all my player and team instructions off and I hadn't realized. Wondered why we started faultering but managed to scrape 3rd in first season. Nsiala, Black and Walker in team of the year. Fewster bagged 22 for me but they won't let me loan him again and want £200k when my transfer budget is £0.00.

Can't find a decent striker for love nor money, got 20k left in wage budget so plenty of scope but looks like going into first game with no strikers as I binned them all :(
