OK THEN... COCK ON THE BLOCK TIME

IOR OR FANS OWNED... ONLY CHOICE?

what do people want from those two?
Bearing in mind in both cases we will end up below the Conference

The difference being only one of them will re-invest all of the money back into the club and the other one will not

Now think carefully folks!!!!

the first thing that would happen is that the backroom staff would not be enforced on a manager like the current situation

How is that ever going to work now? It has completely failed for the last 5 years

The only non-catastrophic period of football was actually under Cooper with Hignett as his chosen assistant

When Hignett left, catastrophe returned and continues to this day

IOR will be looking for another investor because they'll know they have no way of recouping any of the £14 million debt if they walk.

Trouble is that nobody is going to buy the team with the current farce off the pitch and joke on it.

So what us fans need to do is raise some money, get organised and pull together. People like Bob and Geoff are typical of the small minded, small town, scared of change mindset that many Hartlepool people display when something new comes along or someone wants to make something better.

Yes a fan owned club wouldn't be as great as one owned by a sugar daddy but I'm certain that with the ground, the right vision and some steady support from businesses that even if Pools end up at the bottom rung of the ladder Conference football and a return to the league would be a real possibility.

I'm not sure how many fans will be prepared to pull out hundreds of pounds to put in a rainy day fund when times are that hard that many struggle to get to the match or by cheap season tickets? How many of us can really afford to pledge money that we may never see again? Even people who can afford it - how many of them are prepared to put money in?

I'm not being negative - just trying to be realistic. Hopefully IOR will just spend some money in January...

3000(ish) fans at every home game.

13 games left this season.

If every fan puts £1 in a bucket at every game the fund would be at nearly £40k without anyone working too hard or being stretched, and wouldn't count the odd bigger donation or any income from supportive visiting fans. Bearing in mind this is money to be held for the worst happening and not to run the club straight away.

The £100 (or whatever people can afford) donations could be instead of renewing a season ticket while IOR are here which some people will be happy to go along with.

Some of the early money could be put to use trying to hurt IOR's income from sponsors by talking to them and promoting the feeling against the way the club is being run into the ground by an increasingly distant bloke who seems to only have one standard set of answers and who can't bare to be honest with the people who are paying into the club.

I know the club has shareholders but they seem to have no influence, maybe a fan owned club could make being a season ticket holder have the same status as a traditional shareholder in being able to vote on things at meetings or via pre-meeting ballots.

And I would suggest anybody who declares they would abandon ship when the shit inevitably hits the fan, should stop talking on here. It is not about what can't be done

It is about what CAN be done and what must be done, cos I am sure that time is coming.

With luck we can be bought by local business with the club at the centre of its concern.

But there needs to be some fund set up

I can't believe there are people effectively saying don't do it cos it can't be done

Not my sort of thing these protests but I just want to say I think the way forward as some are suggesting is through putting him in a position that he has to answer questions to defend himself and his position at the club and IOR. THE WORD IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD.

I think this is what swung it in the end.
