Well, because of the numerous campaigns there are in football against this kind of thing, it's very difficult for somebody to make malicious comment and get away with it.

And rightly so, in my opinion.

Why would anyone make malicious comments about Plymouth? Are they gay?

So is Plymouth the new Brighton now?

And will Brighton take a right hissy fit when it finds out?

Brighton will have a massive hissy fit.. They will throw their butt plugs and lube about and storm off.. with Ricky Martin playing in the background.

I'm still baffled about why people have to be careful what they say at Plymouth football matches?

So, you don't accept the first link's findings because Stonewall might be biased. You don't accept the second link because, although those researchers aren't biased, their evidence (similar to that produced by Stonewall,) runs counter to your own experience. And the conclusion is that because you yourself haven't seen any sexual bullying to speak of, you're as likely to get bullied for having a big nose?

This isn't like you at all.

It's because, Plymouth being a sea-side town, the risk of setting off a spiel of fish puns is relatively great.

It's good to have POK back, all we need now is Cornelius to return and it'll be a full house.

The question is why POK isn't just POK, is it a fake POK?

Your 'experience' cannot be a substitute for properly conducted research when trying to ascertain the extent of a social problem. If you think that your 'experience' is able to provide the answers, then yes, you need to remove the blinkers.

Research from a biased point of view is not worth the paper is written on. As for a big issue from a non event I feel last weekends march more than illustrates that point.

But you haven't shown yet that the research is biased. The research is based on the evidence of people who say they've been bullied on sexual grounds. I see no reason to think they're all lying. Why is their testimony so hard for you to accept?

Knowing some gay people who haven't been bullied is hardly conclusive evidence for believing than none have.

No you miss the point I believe the figure will not be as high as they suspect.. They wouldn't have much of an axe to grind if it was only a few.. Today's society is far more excepting of people of all colours and sexual orientation

The point as I see it is that you need evidence to believe anything.
The researchers might have got it wrong, but you need to be able to show this, not merely 'believe the figure isn't as high as they suspect'.

That society is accepting of people of all colours and sexual orientation, is very far from being an established truth. Again, where's your evidence?

All this belief based on personal experience is worrying.
It's the reason people often think things like, 'oh, I haven't seen any signs of deprivation myself, therefore it's all myth and I'm going to vote Tory again'.

But doesnt that survey suggest there are thousands of kids that are gay?

I suspect that number has been exaggerated....................a bit like the theory that 1 in 10 are gay. Nonsense.

Um.....well, I suspect that you should get back to rounders threads, and to impersonating non-existent people. Not to put too fine a point on it, like

Let's take this to a logical conclusion; I don't trust police stats on crime (as they have an interest in massaging the figures). I have not been the victim of crime for quite some time. Ergo, in my 'experience', crime is not a real problem, and we should stop worrying about it.

whats a double step look like?

We all had a step in the 90's, it was the hairstyle of its time.

The double step is taking it to a whole new level mind.

Yeah, I remember that, actually, Mr. Chip.

Haven't seen him at an away game since.

Well, it was supposed to be meant as a joke, but the Brighton stewards thought otherwise.

I didn't see much apart from him suddenly leaving during the match.

And I can remember him getting threatened by a steward when Hartlepool played Brighton away at The Priestfield Stadium - because he had a klaxon horn, which he wasn't supposed to have had in the ground.

He came down here on a couple, and he gave some of his old 'Pools shirts when I was a kid.
