Agreed Ref was a wanker.

Budtz spilt one cross, caught the rest, never attempted a ridiculous punch, pulled off some great saves and got off his line quickly. He won us the game but he aint Dimi so lets not give him any credit

Jesus.

He had done nothing for most of the second half, obvious choice to go off and as we knew they would be pushing forward, id rather have someone with pace like Foley to maybe run onto a long ball or burst past an ever attacking defence.

Liddle 5...........gave them too much respect.

he's a good player but he's not playing well. far too casual on the ball, and very rarely plays a pass forward. Boland's meant to be the more defensive of the two (isn't he?) but he was far more creative tonight. Liddle just isn't performing as far as i'm concerned. it's no suprise we're bypassing the midfield when there's no creativity in it.

i think we miss Sweeney........

For me he is the driving force of our midfield, i would play him and Liddle in the middle of the park any day.......

I was thinking about that. but sweeney drifts out of games and liddle isn't tough enough. we'd get over-run. Humphreys has usually done alright in the middle, or how about Liddle getting his act together and contributing more than sideways passes? He's got class but he seems stifled to me. I said when he first signed he'd take a while to get used to this level and I still don't think he properly has.

He was a cross between Uriah Rennie and Mike Pike. Shocking.

I always say that a clueless ref is bad enough but a vindictive ref is even worse, and he was just that.

Forget the pens he turned down, the dissallowed goal and all the other mental decisions.

The one thing that did it for me above all the shiite was when Porter was clean through and he pulled it back for a foul on the halfway line that happen 5 seconds ago. Most referees would have played advantage, but he decided not to on purpose as we looked like scoring.

Phillips was the other villian in the piece.

I'm not quite sure how Coles could 'scare' you because defensively he didn't put a foot wrong all night, he won all of his headers against the 6'2" winger Haldine and the lad didn't get past him once, who was the first Bristol Rovers player to be subbed? Yes the left winger.

He might not be the best in possession but he has a bit of pace he can win his headers and he can tackle a proper defender if you ask me. Tonight was our second clean sheet of the season.

On to the Ref, I've never seen a ref get the advantage law so consistently wrong. He played it when the full back had the ball 70 yards from goal yet blew up twice in a goal scoring positions He did us a massive favour late on blowing when they had a great chance to score but it was evened up by utterly ridiculous decision against Foley (when his shirt was being pulled off his back) which led to them hitting the underside of the bar last kick. Oh and the 'foul' by Porter on Phillips banghead

Where do they get these incompetent goons from?

Every time I've seen Carl Boyeson he's been the same. I wouldn't put him on a schools pitch.

Budtz - i like him, I thought he made some decent stops last night and in general he's done ok, considering we got him for nowt I think he has done more than ok.

Coles - his distribution at times was shocking but he did add a bit of aerial prowess.

Liddle - He is capeble of so much more, it's time for him to step it up a gear.

Sweeney - Are people serious about putting him in the team? When he plays we might as well not have a central midfield. Boland and Lidds are far better players than than him.

the ref - he was a tit.

I'm glad we managed to grind the result out, onwards and upwards hopeully.

You missed the one when Coles was in front of their player, both went over yet he gave them a free kick for a push, or when Coles again was next to the ballgets his legs taken from under him yet concedes the free kick.

I know we get some shit refs and other fans will tell us we are biased but I think he took the biscuit last night, I have never seen such an incompetent display

Yep,that was either cheating or gross incompetence & in my opinion should get him sacked.

banghead

Thats what keepers are supposed to do, take the ball at the highest point so less chance of anyone getting their head on it in front of them.

I didn't think Nelson was immense, he lost 90% of headers he went up for against Lambert in the second half.
