Inspiration and passion were in abundance at Elland Road before a ball was kicked, when a fitting tribute was paid by both sets of supporters with a minutes applause to commemorate the life of the truly inspirational wonder woman Jane Tomlinson. Inspirational passion continued throughout the afternoon as Dennis Wises' side somehow succeeded to win their 5th consecutive win managing to claw back the 15 point deficit imposed by the league, astonishing!......but not as astonishing as the performance put in by Danny Wilson's blue and white army in their first league meeting against the once famous Leeds United. It was an inspirational display of dominance from United, not only did they look like AC Milan in the new red and black striped kit, they at times played like The Rosseneri. After having conceding two goals, due to a mix of unfortunate errors in defence and clinical Leeds finishing, Pools took hold of the game by the scruff of the neck and oozed confidence, pressing forward at every given opportunity, but sadly their efforts were only rewarded by the rattling of the woodwork and goal line clearances from the overworked home defence! The result may not have gone Pools way, but the effort and commitment shown sent 3,000 Hartlepool fans home feeling as proud as ever to be Poolies!

Agree with all of the above and despite what one or two wise crackers might add on here, a large proportion of leeds fans felt them same way...............in fact enough to vote their keeper motm in the lounge afterwards.

Pride in a Cardiff esque way was defo the order of the day for all in Blue & White yesterday

Their keeper motm??

He was absolute dross. Never collecetd one cross, kept parrying simple saves etc etc

If you'd been at our end you'd have seen an astonishing save when the ball could so easily have crossed the line. That was worth MOTM on its own given the 1-0 score at the time.

Casper's flappy on crosses, yes, but as a shot stopper he's amongst the best we've seen since Nigel Martyn, and that's some praise.
