He probably deservew it.
But a lot of the pools fans, me included, will not have been around when bob newton went to prison.

At the end of the day whether you agree or disagree he has served the time given to him by a court of law. Obviously this is a different case to say a brickie going back to work after a spell in prison becasue he is in the public eye.

I really don't think that it is an issue that should be droned on about constantly, the bloke was a complete idiot, his sentance was too short but he has served his time.

If anyone it's down the court and his new employers that his life is almost unaffected by it all. No morals in business and we all have opinions on the British legal system.

If it was the chanting that was affecting his game then I don't think he'll score for years. There'll always be SOME fans hurling abuse.

Ironically, I think if he was a Premiership player he'd maybe be banned for life. I think it'd be the one situation where fame wouldn't save the player.

i think the reason he kept him on is to get him the 90 minutes under his belt and not just a half - pity the parole board didn't the same and give him his full sentence.
