In the 70's everyone had a Budgie sat in the corner of the room in a Cage on a Stand munching away on Trill and Cuttlefish!!!! :sweeeet: :sweeeet:

Did they all die due to Passive smoking???? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

BTW....Ours was called 'Blueboy'!!!! :sweeeet: :grin:

PS....that reminds me....one of the most famous Budgies of all-time must be the one out of 'Carry On At Your Convenience' that picks out the winners on the Racing!!!! :sweeeet: :laugh: :grin:

Amazing budgie facts:

(1).a budgie from petaluma in califonia had a vocabulary of 1,728 words by the time he died in january 1994.
(2)a budgie named sparky williams had a repertoire of 8 nursery rhymes,360 phrases.and a vocabulary of over 550 words . he died in 1962 but not before he became a star selling over 20,000 copies of his record.
(3)a budgie lost for 4 days was reunited with its owner after reciting its address and phone number.
(4)when budgie chicks are born they weigh just 2 gramms each.
(5)the budgie has 3 eye lids.an upper,a lower and a third eye lid that it can pull across from the side to protect it.
(6)birds are susceptible to poisenous fumes.thats why miners used to take them in the mines.even the fumes from an over heated non stick saucepan can be toxic to a budgie.
(7)budgies are warm blooded.there body temp is around 41 c . alot higher then the domestic cat or dog.
(8)the scientific name for the budgie is melopsittacus undulatus.
(9)charlie the budgie from stonebridge,london was born in 1948.he finally stopped chirping on the 20th of june...1977 aged 29 years and 2 months.
(10) If you wrap your budgie in clingfilm, it will not split when you shag it.

we once had a cockateil that whistled laurel and hardy, right messy buggers they are too.
