surely a defeat is on the cards as there is too much optimism going on and normal service needs to return.

2-0 down and being torn a new arsehole by the sounds of things against the one team approximately at our level we’ve played so far, though who should

At least it’s obvious now that the squad is nowhere near good enough, the likes of Folarin, Stephenson, Darcy Hunter etc hopefully aren’t starting next week, but one or two injuries and we are f’d

That was my worry Loyal that we have played no teams in our friendlies that resemble the tests we are going to come across in the next 9 months. It’s not a good sign unless Graysonncan kick arse at half time

It’s interesting he clearly hasn’t put his first choice lot out apart from up front, in fairness most of the shite we have are what Grayson inherited , but I wonder if he asks Monks what he has been playing at recruitment wise

Not all down to Monks is it, I appreciate Moore has health problems but is he not part of the scouting team ?

Agree. A reality check so we dont sail into next week full of misplaced confidence. Today's starting 11 were not the strongest except for the forwards and no doubt Grayson experimented with formations as he likes to do. Having said, that no one likes to lose.

No surprise that the first proper teams we have played rolled us over with ease. To lose all your best players in an already poor team is going to take a massive job to get us anywhere. Saying that it was the best thing possible to happen, fancy not having a proper test before the season starts, really was a strange choice of friendlies.

Apart from the Leeds United game which made perfect sense for Feather's testimonial, the schedule for the rest did not make sense especially the early ones against teams who are much below NL standard. IMO we should have played Shields and/or another NLN outfit a few weeks back and secured a real test at that stage instead of now with no games remaining for Grayson to try out his strongest line up (if he indeed knows what that is). Dunno who is responsible for setting up the pre- season schedule but with the club operating in a virtually amateur fashion what more should we really expect?

Jesus i think a few of you posters need to take a chill pill such negativity and probably haven't been to any of the friendlies so you carnt even comment on the team cos you haven't even seen them play yet.

Friendlies today.

Spennymoor 0 York 1

Weston super mare 1 Yeovil 0

So please lets have some positivity untill we at least play some games then you can be as negative as you want to be if it doesn't go so well

When has any pre-season friendly campaign ever given an indication of what we'll do in the league season?
Having said that, it's really surprising that we or even an EFL club haven't taken a punt on their scorer Blackett given he's prolific at NLN level.

Pre season friendly to get some fitness and result not overly important. Not sure why everyone is stressing out. Season hasn't even started

Think about it.

I have watched some of the friendlies and appreciate all of the above but at the end of the day, friendly game or not, experimental side or not there's NO WAY that we should be losing 0-2 at home to such as South Shields. It will be very interesting to hear Simon Grayson's views in respect of this unexpected setback.

Have you never seen FA cup giant killer games??? Anyone can lose to anyone on the day!!!
And any experimental team can lose to anyone, because they are experimental teams........... How do you expect a manager to know what players can do in other positions if he dosent experiment??? I dont hink Grayson gives 2 fecks about this result......... and neither do I..

The warning signs are there for everyone to see but the usual suspects will never see them until 20 games into the season. A team we steam rollered last season have turned us over on our own patch like most national north teams seem to do, friendly or no friendly Last week we were guaranteed the play offs after struggling past redcar and fc hartlepool now all of a sudden its just fitness. The squad is weak as piss, if we haven't conceded by half time at Yeovil I will be pleasantly shocked we are so underprepared to face anyone decent its laughable. How were we ever going to know any issues playing against u21 under 18s and gimme teams.

Wake wakey its not about a friendly its how far we slump every single season, new lows after new lows . How can you take positivity after being overun by a team that were northern league not so long ago. If we had won 5 nil today everyone would of been claiming what a great team we are this should be a major wake up call. No proper keeper 1 week before the season, the manager saying players aren't quite ready due to signing late, first team of anywhere near our standard walking over us. Let's hope its a major kick up our arse and we come out fighting at Yeovil and make a mockery of today, I hazard a guess it will be more of the same.

Can you seriously tell me what's positive at the minute? Muppets like you get fooled every season. Buzzing cos we beat some northen league shite, may I add i went to redcar and I've never seen a worse pools team in 40 year friendly, testimonial or league 1 game, we looked abysmal. But like you say we can get away with it because its friendlies let's see how long it lasts when the season starts.

It doesn't make you a great fan getting all excited over beating fc hartlepool and thinking we're going to win the league because of it. Enjoy your alco pops and come back and tell us how great we are in a month. I reckon you wont be. Because you obviously have no clue what a decent squad is and what isn't.

Probably been to more matches in 1 season than you have seen wins. You do realise not everyone that supports pools comes from.hartlepool dont you? Possibly moved away maybe. Anyway keep living raj's dream for him, let's see how many new lows we can hit this season.
