You can do less than a year Jail Time for killing someone with a car but if it had been a knife or a gun you would be looking at at least 15/20 years?? What's the difference???

one is premeditated and the other an accident that went wrong. akins did not go out that day to kill someone and unless he is an absolute twat he,ll have to live that the rest of his life in his head. that will be far worse for him than the period he,s banged up playing football for the nick.

I may as well be the first to mention my boyhood hero Bob Newton.

Don't know if he'll ever beat Jim Davidson's tally of disqualifications for drink driving, but he's certainly giving it a go.

shows how times and attitudes have changed. wonder if todays fans would have a hero who has been done for drink driving and you would either have to whisper their name or write a note about them that would combust after 10 seconds. next on the hate lists would be ones who had a bet and shagged anything that moved in a skirt.

Aye. George Best and Frank Worthington would be well fucked, as shagging anything in a skirt could certainly get you more than you bargained for these days..!

Lee Hughes got 6 years for his dangerous driving, but only served 3 years.

I think its the degree of intent is higher or easier to see. The reality is though manslaughter should carry a sentnce pretty close to murder. Might not be planned but carelessness kills a lot of people every year

and that was for manslaughter and fleeing the scene pissed up. should have got 6 for both offences making it 12.
