where would we be without your expert eye for a player at this level

Charman, Folarin and Hunter all somehow procured by Joe's shrewd discernment--at least Limpy had the good sense not to bring them on.

Lets not forget Sloggett who cant even make the bench and Campbell the jewel in Monks recruitment crown.

Am sure we will miss Joe when he will be surely snapped up by a Premier League team to head their scouting network in the close season given his runaway success for Pools.

just wonder if he gets any help like they do at other clubs who have a wide network of scouts across the country. if they haven,t then its time to advertise these positions as there would be a number of ex players as well as exile fans who would put their time in to help and without any payment apart from a complementary ticket. have pools always been like this as from my experiace of over 60 years ago i managed to get trials at watford and halifax but pools despite pleas just did not want to know. ok i did not make it but they did not know at the time.

You dodged a bullet there then......players graveyard is Pools. Also Monks is probably very limited by the wages he can offer.

I wasn't expecting much from charman and hunter when they signed and they are pretty much what I expected. Campbell was seen as a real coup for the club when he came in but has been a huge huge massive disappointment, he's never shown anything in any game where I've thought wow he's looks a great player. Folarin hasn't played that much but on what I've seen looks a headless chicken, again would expect more from someone who's played plenty of games at L2 level. Sloggett has never had a run of games and personally thought he did well against Altrincham only to be dropped out the squad completely, fair enough he's never looked anything special but he's had far less game time than the likes of Campbell and hunter.
Pools do seem to have a habit of signing players on their way down and making them even worse! All comes down to a lack of a plan and no identity on how to play.

do not think its the money we offer its just selling the club and the area for players who need to move up here. thats one of the reason we are behind clubs like halifax and altrincham because they have a bigger number of more locally based players available to sign. barrow have shown the way by training and picking up more local players to a training ground miles from the town and the players only need to see holker street on a matchday. i,d be very happy if we followed this somewhere in manchester or the leeds area.

That’s a great suggestion Accy, Pools will never return to their former greatness (!.?) by continually recruiting cast offs from failing L2 clubs, National League rivals or even NLN clubs. However for your proposals to come to fruition it would require vision, thinking outside the box, funding, a football brain or two and above all, ambition - all of which are in short supply behind the iron gates of the Vic, from top to rotten bottom.

Same mistake all the time…..so why not…….buy a good manager, show some ambition, back him, sack the keyboard coaches and associated box tickers and let him get on with it.
Pools are like a playing side run by a committee, everyone has an input and Granda comes down sometimes from the loft to take charge when he gets the urge.
Fucking ridiculous.

Pools are currently at the level of the pre Harold Hornsey days, nothing is going to change unless a new owner with unlimited funds buys them. We are not the great Hartlepool United of the IOR days, look at similar clubs in the NL and the league below us struggling to survive hoping for a new owner.

think that is a lot to do how fans think of the club. it must be a real hell on earth for a fan brought up and making their first visit in the IOR days. those who started their poolie life in more unsuccesful days might view our present situation on the pitch more of that they have seen it all before with lower expectations.
