In the semi’ of the FA Trophy, beat Sutton 2-0 at theirs yesterday, my daughter was down London visiting some friends. Spennymoor were in her hotel. She knows Matt Dolan through her friends, I am sure he mentioned to her he thought he would see his playing days out at Pools, she was on speaker phone in car so the clarity of the call wasn’t that good.
Goes back to the question were Pools to hasty in getting rid of Lee, maybe if he had Clarke as his assistant instead of hands in pocket Nelson there might have been different outcome ?

i have been saying that for years especially when we saw what he was replaced with. we,d bite our hands off for that final league 2 finishing spot he got and was slated for it. makes you wonder how many years or if ever we can better that finish.

How far do you go back though
We shouldn't have Sacked Neale Cooper and replaced him with Martin Cock- let alone give him the season after, when he engineered our relegation with arguably our best ever squad.

Been downhill since Danny Wilson departed - reckon he's the best manager we've had in my 40 odd years

Think we need to forget about the what ifs- the fact is we didn't and we're not.

We can only worry/ affect the here and now. Until the Rajanator decides he's ACTIVELY going to sell the club, we just need to get on with it, and try and make the best of a woeful situation.

The Neale Cooper one was a strange one, he wasn’t actually sacked was he ?

Good lad Spike.
Hope his Spennymoor go on to win at Wembley.

Not a chance we would be non league shite if he wasn't shit on by Sing.
Did his target like KP.

A very fcuked up run club is Pools as this worst team of cranks is evidence in trying to string a few wins together.

Don’t get me started. The prime mover in his ousting was Humphreys he was bragging about it in the studio the day we recorded the NSD record.

We have a major problem.
The club is unsellable.
And the usual promotion budget to sell STs has come to an end.
Where do we go now Where do we go.?!

What did Humps do? And why did he do it?

Danny Wilson interview on Switch of Play you got the impression him and Hodcroft didn’t get along, Hodcroft wanted a dossier on Monday morning after the game on Saturday which Wilson couldn’t see the point of it.

the club is only sellable to somebody mega rich who does not mind taking a big financial hit to get the club back on track. the average owner would only at best be a slight improvement on the present situation but might actually have a long term positive plan.

Spennymoor back in the play off mix.
Tough game at Chorley tomorrow then easy game Tuesday.
Good luck to them.

Can see them turning Rochdale over next week with a 1000 fans behind them.

shows how far you can go in that competition now if a team puts an effort into it. without knowing it would not surprise me if they played there strongest available line up from the day they entered it. makes our paltry effort even worse.

Another hat-trick for Glen Taylor in their last game. He's 34 now and still a phenomenal striker. Have a look at the highlights on Spenny's site, they are all excellent finishes. He was at his peak 5 or 6 years ago - Pools should have offered him massive wages for a part-time footballer then as he has never wanted to go full-time.

Maybe he had a happy medium and valued his day job…..it’s obviously what suits him. clappp

May be Glen Taylor works for Brad.

Many a player at Spenny have had to stay there because their jobs depended on it.

think he is a schoolteacher. years ago league clubs had a number of part timers in there squads and thats when mid week games miles away existed but took longer to get there. so whats the difference now unless the laptops say no due to some sports scientist.

like everything in the game now clubs seem to follow others and none are unique. one day a league club will take a punt on someone like him and make it work as a part timer. many will quickly follow but feel pools will still be back of the line if it did.

Looks like I didn't express myself clearly enough - I meant we should have allowed him to stay part-time and paid him a top dollar wage for a part-time footballer - even it meant him missing some mid-week away games that invoved really long trips. Spennymoor in the NLN have trips to the likes of Kidderminster, King's Lynn, Hereford, Leamington Spa, Oxford and Peterborough as it is.

he,d have made himself available i,ll guess somehow. its not as if they keep refs who themselves are part time at our level and in league 1 and 2 local.
