actually if we did win i,d be delighted. it would make my hope of getting 3 points from our games against oldham and gateshead. if we do i hope the players will get their reward from the fans in the same way they got the stick in defeat. no excuse for anything but everyone potting a real shift in as they ,ll have a saturday off after this one. come on lenny be brave and pick the best available team built on skill more than enthusiasm with no end product.

Would like to see Auld Len start ManiD and Madine together upfront with Mancini in a free role just behind with Sheron in Midfield, and Dodds in at Right back. Would also start Lua Lua on the wing.
Afterall we're the home team, let's go for the jugular and let the opposition worry about us for a change- New Year- new approach.

Oldham too good. With luck and a kind ref we might get a draw but highly unlikely. Best midfielder at full back, Dodds on the bench. Mancini on the wing Madine on the bench. Subs made too late to make a difference. Strong wind makes attractive football impossible. Pools 0 Former Premier League Outfit 2. Fondop to score.

No way will Lennie show any adventure, it'll be another home bore draw imo and Lennie will be over the moon with a point against another team we shouldn't be expected to beat.

I'm struggling to understand the enthusiasm for giving Lua Lua a start (not confined to you Kettering). Is it for anything he's done on the pitch or just a case of 'might as well have a look at him from the off?'

He's good technically but not quick anymore and I can't recall him doing anything memorable at the sharp end of the pitch. It'd be more than a bit harsh to drop Joe Grey for him after Joe scored a cracking goal last week.

We don't know what Lua Lua has to offer until he's given a chance, but considering he's more a winger than Joe he'd be better deployed in that position. Joe needs to be closer to Mani not stuck out wide. I'm old school and like to see our best players playing in their best positions so Sherron has to get back into midfield too.
All this playing players on the wrong wings and false 9 shit is just that imo.

He played the full 90-odd minutes wide on the left in the FA Trophy game against Tamworth and did nothing of note. Unless you want to count the missed penalty in the shoot-out.

So judge him on game that was played like a pre season friendly and we might as well bin him now, along with the other 15 or 16 who wore the shirt that night.
I'll bet the lads taking a big wage only to warm the bench, we're crying out for width and are playing 2 lads who'll graft but they're not wingers out there. We've got natural wingers in the squad but prefer to play players out of position ahead of them? Doesn't make sense to me but Lennie seems to like it.

Steady on, it was still 11 a side - and of the other 'reserves' who got their game Mancini stood out, Sass-Davies and Mathurin did ok and of course, Madine got his goal, as he always seems to.

I've got nothing against LuaLua but on the strength of the Trophy game and his substitute appearances so far I'm not convinced he'll still be with Pools into the New Year. No idea what wage he is on but there will always be other options to consider, like bringing Asiimwe back from Charlton.

The brain of hope and pundits telling us how many brilliant players we have is not the real world.

The real world is they are majorly overated.
It's just a cycle of replacing shit with shit n hopeing for better results.

But now the stay away fans have had enough of it.
Down to 1500 STs max next season if club still operating existing in division 5.

Sing Out.

2 proper forwards of MannyD / Mads getting a mention.

Nothing to lose and maybe the last of last chance saloons to keep season alive.

1 up top is hindering our potential big style.
Are we Gunna get a positive shock team selection formation.

he might have not been outstanding but at least he does not get robbed of the ball as easy as others do where attacks are broken down. does show the odd flash from his past probebly more than madine did when he first got into the side. feel fans expect too much from older players and expect them to be the same as 10 seasons ago.

after listening to him again on his pre match ramble on oldham i went to bed in a cold sweat in fear of the game and for our players having to play a team of that talent on new years day. next game is barnet away so it seems pointless even going down there to play em so going by what lenny will say just give em the 3 points now. he really can motivate fans to turn up for games.

It's pre match excuse cockney Bullshit.
Probably say the same about that bottom team later in the season if he hasn't sacked himself.

As for Mads his goals per minute's ratio is excellent. Should be starting next to MannyD.

i,d give it a go especially if oldham have a problem in the air at the back. nothing to lose but you rarely see sides nowadays with two big men up front with every excuse in the book used for this not happening.

3-0 pools
Mani, Madine and Mancini. A convincing win and Sheron will run the show.

And it will be agreed on the Bunker that Sheron's performance from full back was the greatest seen at the Vic for many a year.

I'm hoping tomorrow will see him back in midfield and Dodds at right back.

Be interesting to see if Joe Royle is in attendance as he is director at Oldham.

Should of been scattered with Fergy.
Well n truly finished.
Probably can't believe their luck drawing a wage from this Leonard Holiday Camp Regime.

Even if we win today its been undone by a poor December n Barnet next game.

That's the reality of it as hope doesn't come into play any more.
We beyond that stage.

Seen a lovely Squirell in the Park today.
Nice.

be interesting how many latics fans brave the weather and possible road closures today when they can attempt to watch it on dazn. in my neck of the woods it has not been as bad since the boxing day floods we got.

Is Charman injured? Not even on the bench when there's even room Wallace there. Lawrence seems to have picked a team a lot on here have been asking for.

In his post-match interview, Heed boss Carl Magnay said his team looked to take advantage of Pools' 'expansive' formation by playing very direct against us, straight through the middle.

Today's line up looks more expansive than ever! Tin helmets on, think it's gonna be another Spursy scoreline today

Sheron in midfield and extra firepower from two up top made the difference? Love to hear from anyone who watched the game.
