We would get a decent crowd if we drew them. Obviously if we win our game first.

Incredible result for Stockton, beating a team that was a founder member of the Premier league, chuffed to bits for them.

Great result for Stockton. Does anyone know if that was Oldham's first team or did they rest players so they could focus on the league? If it was Oldham's best eleven then that was incredible.

This is from the Oldham forum regarding the game today. On page 2 you will see the team for that game and supporters comments etc.

They must be getting bankrolled.
Or maybe they have ambitions thru hard graft and good organisation.
Anyhow well done to them and Spennymoor.

Are we all excited for Mondays draw.

Matty Dolan scored Spennymoor's winner. If we draw them home or away and manage to get past Tamworth I'll definitely be going.

or stockton. should give us a mentally goal start when we play tamworth as a team near them should be the same for them. at least it would give interest to many who previously had no interest in the trophy.

Steady on. We're just as likely to draw Basford United away. confised I'd cross the road for Spike Lee and the rest of the HUFC old boys but that's about the limit of my interest in the competition at this point.

like everyone else your interest would increase the further we progress in the trophy. its so far away from the final now and if we get knocked out next tuesday night most will come on saying they do not give a toss anyway. its a competative game where i want us to win everyone with a better chance actually of winning it than gaining promotion.

oldham rested players and it was mainly a team of squad players stockton had to face. like many teams including us inthis league they only have a good team when most are available and back up players seem that only and give managers little reason to promote them. one thing their fans were told what sort of team they were going to put out beforehand so if any moan about travelling for the game then its their fault not oldhams manager who i,m sure will be getting some stick this morning.

We need a local derby draw to add a bit of spice and interest.

yes and fans throughout the country will agree. however the authorities know better by having the 2nd round draw a national rather than a regional one with the possibility of some clubs making an actual loss on the day rather than making something out of it. everyone with half a brain cell knows that even at pools the gate would be half the number against an obscure southern outfit than it would against a more local side.

Would of made more financial sense to do what they do with the EFL Trophy. North n South all the way to Wembley.

Going for Stockton at home and the teessiders fill the town end for the first time in years due to a high demand.
Loads of Boro turn up for a ruck.

Pools win 4 3

i,d travel up for a start for a local game but not against a side where i need to look at a map to find the town that we,d be playing against.
