Perfect Saturday at the LNER. These are the games we love the most against big clubs like Hartlepool. Their fans were fantastic all the way through. Good luck for the rest of your season!

Thanks Mr Uggla, much appreciated- it’s good to see a traditional, well supported local football club like York City being restored to their former status after several years in the doldrums. If by any chance you have some wealthy mates looking to repeat the exercise, they need to look no further than 116 year old Hartlepool United with a solid fan base of 5k that could easily rise to 8k+ given proper investment and a little success.

7,856 till the ground is expanded. Still prefer the Vic to York City's new toybox.

the plus is the vic could be expanded on two sides but bootham crescent was what it was and that was it. its the position of yorks ground which is a bigger problem than what it looks like. if it was further away its someone you would visit once and not bother again unlike before they moved.

We are fairly unique in that we have a traditional ground with old fashioned feeling of a ground, close to the station and town centre pubs. I was reading some of the stadium review sites that fans produce and the general feeling is that Hartlepool is a good away day. They all mention the traditional floodlights, the pubs and general atmosphere. We often get in the doldrums about our club and ground but some of these clubs that have gone to retail park grounds yearn for what we have. Whether we could build on what we have, given that the ground is council owned, is a discussion for if and ever we get back to any kind of success. For me when Challinor brought us up was a massive sliding doors moment. The chairman wasn't prepared spin the dice and look to maybe losing some of his investment. That's what its all about sometimes, but I am prepared to say I like our ground and setting, other clubs fans do too.

years ago most clubs had grounds in a similar position as we have. always hated going to rochdale before a passed my driving test as it was a drag from either the town or the railway station to get there. wonder if in the past that had an impact on their gates. one thing about the vic is if in years to come travelling does get expensive by pay per mile, clean air zones etc. we will have less of a problem keeping fans than the ones situated miles away on industrial estates will have.

Another unserious timewaster , the sort of which our chairman wisely wouldn’t entertain
