There is other forums for this crap. or go down the local and vent off to the barmaid ! Genuine question but what are the other Hartlepool football related forums.

There's a forum on here for Politics that hasn't been posted on since 2020. Would be great to see politics kept to there and this to football.

I find it quite easy to start reading a thread and if it's not of interest or boring to me not to read any further. No need for censorship or bans, leaves the forum available for the widest possible range of topics imo.
Plus I really do like to channel my inner Victor Meldrew as I get older.

problem is going off thread where at the end its a million miles from the original subject first discussed. something i think we have all been guilty of. doubt the subjects that are brought up would be if it wasn,t a shit show with something so easy to moan about. just finding something that really makes us happy apart from still being alive would be great for everyone.

Do the maths…you post approximately once every 2.3 days….boards don’t survive long on usage like that.

I appreciate that Snowy but it's the same forum just a different board (or whatever order the correct way around is). I am also just 1 of many members on here so the amount I post isn't massively relevant?
Anyway it's my opinion of how I'd prefer it, a few others above have also agreed. You disagree that's fine, but realistically it's not going to change seen as 2 of the moderators contribute heavily to the politics posting

its not too long ago when you could come on here in the morning and catch up in less than 10 minutes which included your post on the subject. more the merrier regarding subjects especially if they are non pools but are dog or transport related subjects and nothing about poncy food or craft ales.

All manner of topics are discussed on here and the previous Government have been called everything from a pig to a dog. Attention has turned to the new Government and that is a natural process. At the moment the new Government is very low in the esteem of the electorate and is suffering in the popularity stakes.
The owner of this site is very much a dyed in the wool Conservative and yet he has, in the vast majority of cases, allowed the party of his choice to be kicked around as a political football WITHOUT any censorship, restriction or sanction.
Now the new Labour government is getting the stick all of a sudden that is being frowned on.
There are two moderators on this site, Mr I and myself and we very rarely intervene with the big stick and generally refrain from clamping down on any post or topic, unless we think there is a danger for the Bunker.
We tend to err on the side of requesting co operation from members to be civil to each other and to use common sense when posting.
We all pretend to be grown men and that is how it should be.
We only intervene in extreme circumstances.
Having "pods" for different subjects is not necessary and would cause a lot of confusion in that the only accurate way the system could be carried out would be that each post would have to be read by a moderator and then allocated to the appropriate pod before publication. It would restrict the immediate impact and be disjointed.
Accepting that other people may have a different point of view to yourselfis the key to harmony.
Politics is an integral part of our lives and no matter which door you go through, some people at the other side of that door will be discussing it.
If you are a Labour man and are feeling under pressure from the "other side" think of how the other side felt when they had to put up with it.
It works both ways.

100% agree. I’d had enough and go to the other forum mostly. I come back now and again and chose to only read or comment on football related topics, as I’ve realised that I don’t have much at all in common with a lot of the regular posters other than following Pools.

The problem is it’s not always obvious from the thread title whether it’s football related or not, so could end up missing some interesting football discussion by avoiding some threads.

Sometimes you come on and about 90% of threads are nothing to do with Pools, so it’s like tiptoeing barefoot through a floor covered in Lego to try and see if there are any updates on football matters.

i,d guess similar topics are being talked about face to face somewhere in the country right now with various opininns on view. if they argree with you then you possibly feel good as they are correct as well. think the other way and they,ll be thought of as the opposite. doubt anybody posts things they do not agree with unless they want some reaction from a single or numerous posters they know see things the opposite.

You post once approximately every 6.5 days…..gonna be a very quiet place at this rate…..tumbleweeds roll by and the door creaks in the wind.

If most of the posters who left here are still together on another Forum then anybody on here who is panging to be in their company again can surely join that Forum as well. You can join as many forums as you like, nobody is stopping anybody in that regard. I am on quite a few Forums both inside and outside of Football. Nobody has ever been able to please all of the people all of the time.

Is there another Pools forum? I know there used to be into or out of the blue and as I recall that wasn't exclusively for football related matters. Also seem to recall the moderators being quite cliquey and over zealous imo, this is much better in that regard again imo.

Maybe it’s like minded forum where everyone knows everyone else and everyone thinks the same and everyone agrees and back slapping reigns all the year round.

Having said that, you can avoid most of the politica and religious stuff on here if you want. You can normally work out by the thread title or original poster what the threads will be like. If the first post is shite, stop reading it. Sometimes even good football threads get hijacked by frothy mouthed political nonsense though which can be annoying. I suspect the current situation at Pools will be identified as the fault of Diane Abbot / Nigel Farage / a boat refugee / a Muslim at some point depending on your viewpoint.

I generally have a rule of not commenting on non footy related threads. Some people love it, but what's the point of having a row about politics on an Internet message board?
