If ever there was a must win game it’s this….just to keep the show on the road.
I hope we do win, but I despair that the tactics have still not been sorted out on the pitch.
We live in interesting times…unfortunately. sadx

Well I must say, I am not expecting a goal fest and if a betting man I would put a tenner on 0-0 draw. Sarl wont get sacked unless there is a heavy defeat and the fans show their displeasure.

The short answer is no, but I see where you are coming from.

No question Pools have underperformed badly and shot themselves in the foot with their disciplinary record. Though Billy for one will disagree, it's clear that Raj has done his bit to back a serious promotion bid, so he and his advisers are bound to be very disappointed.

With another home game on Tuesday night, no outcome on Saturday short of an absolute hammering will be High Noon. Lose both, or get 1 or 2 points from a possible 6, and Sarll will be in serious trouble.

honestly i,d love us to win these two games. its 6 points more plus i do not want to go through another change of manager just to see the great possibility of employing someone worse. since when has sacking a manager been the magic bullet for success.

Saturday.

Hopefully and it is hope We turn the tide and start building up a head of steam.

Just can,t get my head around the 2nd half at Ebbsfleet, 1st half was bad enough.

Before we went there, Their record 0 2 6 4 18 2pts.

Cannot for the life of me, Understand our tactics for that fixture, Totally illogical, No wonder the players played like they did.

Dare not even think what the tactics will be on Saturday, BUT if they are the same, We might as well get shot now.
There has to be a total rethink, Tactically!!!

Not read my posts about raj backing the manager this year. Ive always said i will say it how i see it. For the last few years raj has been a disaster brought in cheap appointments, no plan etc. Probobly brought in cheap appointment this time but he has backed the manager way better, strange when crowds are down but no denying he has.

This season is down to a manager not getting the best out of a forward line we could only dream of not long back. The results have been an utter disgrace.

Can it get any worse? Entertainment zero. Even long ball can be exciting at times are we? No. Results bordering on pathetic we have just lost meakly to a side with 2 points. Home form pathetic.

If we had played against 8 of the top 12 we would probobly be in the relegation zone now. Not sure how we beat the yorks etc playing like this, be like the alamo if we even took the lead.

Even our best performance 20 mins at woking pathetically ended in defeat, im not sure it can be much worsr. Pete wild would have had us top of this league with these fixtures, this manager is on the verge of the sack or should be.

If Pools start playing hoof football the fans will turn on the manager and the players.

It won’t take a heavy defeat for the fans to show their displeasure - those who bother to turn up that is.

I would have sacked him already, nothing he has said or done suggests the style is going to change and results have been well below average
The glimmers of decent performance we seem to get and let’s be honest it’s been limited to 20 mins against Woking and 30 mins against Boston who are both poor sides , seem to be down more to the players than manager and we quickly revert back to type once he gets us back on the training pitch

Nothing short of a good win and a sustained 90mins of purposeful play would persuad me things might actually change…I suspect neither tho we may scrape a 1-0 and have Sarll knocking one out over resiliency before the inevitable happens against rochdale and fgr

We are very lucky to have the amount of points we do have is the scary thing, not one game in 9 can we say…yes we dominated that one and we’re clearly the better side, closest we come to that is against part time Boston and even then only for a half

We were passed off the pitch by the worst team in the league last up…that should have been enough to draw a line under this

Some very valid points.
Glad your concerned about this underachieving situation.
But the majority response is.
Sweep it under the carpet keep the faith we Gunna win these next 2 games.
Rinse repeat
Rinse repeat.
Only 1 solution to get this shit or bust season back on track.
Raj won't sustain this club next season on sub 3000 crowds for sure.
Would love to see us win these next 2 games and yas can call me worse than shit for calling it wrong.

UTP.

Can I say I raised this issue because in my opinion this really is a crossroads involving these two matches….well for me at least.
We have a decent squad that to me is underperforming through no fault of their own. I can see the confidence dropping and the frustration too because we are playing to a system that requires a iron defence because we ain’t gonna score many goals under this ‘style’ of play…as the record this season indicates.
Surely a better system than this can be employed b3vause this is the road to nowhere.
:naughty:

The vast majority of players n fans would agree to this.
Had the 2nd half at Boston been took into the Ebbsfleet game then I'm sure this thread wouldnt be on the Bunker.

Seems the manager is to stubborn or stupid or both to do the right thing.
So he's basically Gunna sack himself.

I can partly understand Raj's reluctance to chase Sarll given his already horrendous record of disposing of manager/coaches. However, he has pushed the boat out on this occasion in appointing an experienced coach with previous of getting teams out of this godforsaken league and also supported him financially in introducing some quality players (on paper at least) thus providing the tools to get the job done.
However, in no way is Sarll delivering even a modicum of the progress what Raj would surely expect to see by now, it's simply not working.

OK so we are no longer conceding shedloads of goals but in terms of visible overall improvement over recent seasons that's about it. Either the summer acquisitions are not of the quality that most of us believed them to be in order to make a serious push for at the very least the playoffs - OR Sarll's coaching, tactics, team selections etc are insufficient to enable the side to be strong enough to challenge for promotion. The sides performance against the Daggers will surely be key to Sarll's continuation as Pools boss.

then we could go out on saturday with the team and tactics the fans want to see, play well and get undone by a couple of breakaway goals our opponents never deserved. its been said before that football is a funny old game watched by fickle fans. how we we feel about our chosen one then.

To Hoof: (colloquial, football (football), transitive) To kick, especially to kick a football a long way downfield with little accuracy.

Probably because the Daggers put 7 past Gateshead last week, and as we all know, Gateshead are God's gift to non-league football.

I agree that the Daggers will go hard from the outset after thrashing Heed, so we must not expect Pools to go on all out attack from the outset. If there are no goals after half an hour, we could then hopefully go on to win.

If we concede early it could be very embarrassing and Sarll's position will be untenable.

Will go for the jugular. Might be a wake up call by not expecting much.

I agree that the Daggers will go hard from the outset after thrashing Heed, so we must not expect Pools to go on all out attack from the outset. If there are no goals after half an hour, we could then hopefully go on to win.

If we concede early it could be very embarrassing and Sarll's position will be untenable.

Pools to go on all out attack.

Best Bunker joke this season.
Quality.

Great so the strategy is backs to wall to begin with so no doubt a midfield of Sluggett and the punt brothers to make sure the ball doesn’t touch the floor outside the oppo penalty box

What’s the over under on hunters yellow card ? I’ll go 20 mins

You’ve got to learn….just sit there, say nothing and look miserable…in the end they turf you out…off to the match. Happy Days.

The killer touch is sitting like a 7 year old and looking at anything but her…like the ceiling…helps when Ratboy and Ruby jump up either side of me in sympathy on the couch…that’s the overkill.

Been reading some Southend fans think MidTable would be acceptable for them, With the disruptions they have had in the summer, TOver, Embargo, Training ground issues etc.

So think its not too much for us to expect a top 3 finish.
Yet Snarll said post match (Tees), If we had got a point on Saturday, That may have been enough to get us into the POff places come the season end.
Is he all there, I,m begining to wonder.

Its as if he started the season thinking any point was decent no matter who its against. You would think we are battling to try and get 50 points the way he has gone on. Not acceptable im afraid. No shock to see york up there now, shown ambition and now doing the business, we really should be up there with him sooner this guy is sacked the better.

He's fulla cockney bullshit. Probably how he got the job.
He had me fooled them first 3 games.
But the last 6 has made me realise Mutley to a few a bit to early sussed him out as a Fraudster early doors.

Not a chance we take 6 pts from these 2 home games.
Over to Raj now promotion.
Swing that axe before next Thursday.
UTP.

I get the need to stop us being a soft touch but there is no balance--seems like we are always being reactive--I hope when Sarll goes we get a pragmatist, who wants us to get the ball down and attack.
I sound like a broken record but its a dropped bollock in the extreme to sign Waterfall and Parkes-then Sack Askey before he has a chance to use them
