Most local councils not even marking this annual occasion. A day to recognise the people who 365 days a year strive to keep our country and interests safe and secure, yet we were encouraged to clap for the NHS every Thursday night because they were keeping us safe?
What a joke this country is becoming.

Pride has had every day for the last 5 years or so, pushed constantly subliminally and frequently just rammed down our throats.

actually armed forces day affects more of us than a pride month. doubt there are many english families and a number of ex commonweath ones now living here who have not a reletive who were once in the armed forces if they were not themselves. how many gays though are known on our family tree. have a lesbo living next door to me whose a nice lass but hates pride with a passion and everything to do with it. just wants to carry on with the life she chooses and nothing more or less.

Armed Forces Day

Saturday 29th June 2024
10.00am - 4pm, admission FREE
Hartlepool Armed Forces Liaison Group, local Reserve Army detachments and cadet units will be gathering here at the Heugh Battery to celebrate Armed Forces Day 2024.

The official opening ceremony will take place at 11.00am, thought the museum will be open from 10.00am as usual.

The ceremony will include the presentation of a branch standard to the Hartlepool Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club. The club was set up just over 5 years ago and has grown in popularity and strength, with 350 current members.

There will be displays and activities throughout the day from Hartlepool’s new Reserve Army Units who are coming to meet the public, show the equipment they have available and report on their activities since moving to the town.

There will also be display stands from local cadet units and veterans associations, as well as visiting exhibitions from collectors and military vehicle enthusiasts.

Performances provided by Creative Minds will provide entertainment throughout the day. Creative Minds CIC is a local charity which provides young people with the opportunity to develop musical and creative talents.

all that sounds really good unlike in my town where something was cancelled by the local council for no reason after the organisers had arranged everything including portaloos that will have to be paid for. this was at the last minute but you need to just look at many of the names of local councillors to see the reason this might have happened. lets say there are not many smiths, joneses or browns on it apart from the colour of the latter or tories for that matter. about time we stood up together and be counted whilst we are still in a majority. better go away as my blood pressure is getting too high for comfort.

I think once people react with ‘ so what’ when people say they are gay, they’ve arrived. Once your sexuality is classed as mundane as everyone else’s there’s no point to all these events…..that’s just keeping the activists in a job…people just want to get on with their lives and be left in peace and ignored, I would.
Mind you, I restrict my view to the LGB element.
The rest should campaign under their own colours.

what do they actually want now. these minorities have got their rights and equality but feel they are not satisfied and want even more. do they want positive discrimination now to put them in number 1 position for all jobs going to the point where we have to do a straight pride to redress the balence.

I know it won’t happen but if they introduced National Service that would sort the chaff from corn or even unemployed kids who didn’t have a job.

it might happen if starmer is blair mark 2 and national service might be introduced for all school leavers who refuse a place at college or university or fail to secure a place there.
